Ever fancied yourself as a detective, an ingenious problem solver, a spy, or just plain smarter than the average bear!
Well here is your chance as you team up with two or three other Walkie Talkies in a team on a new and innovative Treasure Hunt that takes place on London's Underground! Solve the puzzles, meet the challenges and win some great prizes. Strategy is key, as is teamwork, and the will to win.
If you are booking as an individual or a pair, teams will be formed at the start of the event. If you book for 3 or 4 then you have a ready made team. If you wish you can enter company teams to participate or even a number of company teams and hold your own little competition between teams whilst at the same time being in the main event itself.
When the Treasure Hunt is over (lasts approx. 75 minutes) scores are tallied and the prizes are awarded. Then it's off to a nearby traditional West End pub for some drinks and to share your stories of what went down on the underground.
Points will be tallied for each challenge met and prizes of official London Underground Merchandise will be awarded to each member of the winning team as well as prizes for each member of the 2nd and 3rd placed teams. There will be some booby prizes too for the team that come up with the worst or funniest answers or who were simply the most entertaining during the Treasure Hunt!
Beware of the secret Agent Orange who will be lurking on the underground trying to disrupt and undermine your mission. Fall foul of him and your mission may be doomed.
Return late to base and incur the wrath of The Master of The Hunt and penalty points which may make the difference between winning and losing.
Are you a natural leader of your team or will you play a more specialist role within it?
All will become clear, as your team takes on The London Underground Treasure Hunt!
Here is a taster of some of the underground challenges, or at least the names of them. You will have to guess what they mean because it will be a surprise on the evening!
"Landmark" : "Sudoku": "Hunt The Cliff": "True Colours": "Fantasy Football": "The Name Game": "Chocs Away": "Playlist" "Monopoly": "007": "Paul the other one": "Viral Spiral": "Rail Vowel": "Piano Man": "Line-up": "On Golden Pond"
This will be a real fun evening that is guaranteed to not be spoiled by the rain!
We all meet between 6.15 pm and 6.30 pm next to the Wyndhams Theatre (will be showing the play "Relatively Speaking") which is adjacent to Leicester Square Tube Station, please take Exit 1 Charing Cross Road, National Gallery. Your host Cliff will be holding a Treasure Hunt sign.
Each Treasure Hunter receives a Treasure Hunt welcome pack with the Treasure Hunt clues and challenges, an underground map and a free London souvenir pen. Then it's down on the underground to find the Treasure and then return to base (the same as the meeting point) by 8.30 pm. You will need to work as a team to formulate the best strategy as far as finding the Treasure, collecting bonus points for completed challenges and time management. There will be late arrival penalties if your whole team is not back at Leicester Square by 8.30 pm!!
The pub after The Treasure Hunt has outdoor as well as indoor areas to enjoy a drink and to share your stories of the one that got away! This is far more than a regular Treasure Hunt...... the biggest points score will be for finding the "Treasure" but there are all sorts of other challenges to complete within the 75 minutes, some of them quirky and many of them very amusing.
Please bring a mobile phone with you that is capable of taking photographs or a compact digital camera as some of the Treasure Hunt challenges involve photography. Please note that flash photography is strictly prohibited on the underground.
You should not run whilst on the underground network and are responsible for your own personal safety during the event.
Whilst the prizes are very nice and the kudos of winning is something to be treasured, this is a fun event so any undue risk taking to secure points is not advised.
The Treasure Hunt takes place within zone 1 of the underground so please come prepared with either a zone 1 travelcard or an Oyster card.
