A country house, deer park and pretty countryside:
As it looks like it'll be wet for a lot of the week (and therefore muddy), I thought we'd go for something which allows us to get out of the rain if need be. Although, there is no such thing as bad weather. Just the wrong clothing!
We will meet at Victoria, by 9:45am, to catch the 10:07 train to Borough Green. The return from Sevenoaks is on a different train route, so probably best to buy 2 singles out of and back to London. If you prefer, wait to get tickets at the station and that way, it might be possible to get a group discount. Otherwise, you can book in advance via thetrainline.com.
Given weather conditions in the lead up to Saturday, I suggest sturdy walking shoes or boots. I think it'd be sensible to carry a spare pair of shoes to change into, both for the train journey back to London, and for lunch stops, etc. Please make sure you've some spare warm clothing and waterproofs too.
For lunch, I suggest we stop off somewhere. I don't think it'll be picnic weather, but feel free to bring along a packed lunch if you prefer.
Finally, here are the walk details: http://www.walkingclub.org.uk/book_1/walk_36/index.shtml
As stated previously, anyone who joins this walk is responsible for their own safety at all times. I am not a professional walking group leader. Therefore, please ensure that you have a copy of the walk instructions and/or map with you and be prepared to use them. If you have a smart phone and would like to use the GPS coordinates, I use the ViewRanger app, which you can download from the app store. I think the app is free, but you will need a map of SE England, which I believe costs around £8.
And that's it! I look forward to seeing you on Saturday. If you can't make it, please let me know by Friday evening.
