Improv Comedy Workshop & Pitching Pilot Projects

Mark Keegan of comedy act Impro Punks ( www.impropunks.co.uk ) will be giving a 20 mins workshop on improvisation comedy techniques followed by a Q&A. This will be followed by a series of pitches from our members looking to start projects with other members of the group. If you have an idea for a project that you'd like to get help and involvement with then bring your pitch along. We'll be aiming for these finished projects to be 2 mins long and they will be shown at a screening night social we are planning for June. Your pitch should last no longer than five mins and there'll be chance for a 5 min Q & A after each one. Group members can then decide which project/projects they want to get involved in. Please also use the Suggested tab to put your project idea on is site too. We've got some terrific members from professional film makers through to advert extras, tv actors and bloggers. Newcomers and new ideas welcome. See you there ;-)

Thanks for being good sports and getting into the impro comedy spirit. Hopefully it has enabled Sean to improvise the removal of the garbage from his flat!

Sorry you couldn't make it this time. 6 of us turned up and Mark's comedy workshop was good fun. Hope to catch you next time.

Hi all. I look forward to seeing you all this Sunday. Here’s my proposal.

The video will start with a black screen with the words “We asked members of the London Youtube group to talk about their favourite work of art”.

The audio for the 2 minutes is of a few of us briefly answering the question one at a time (between 3 and 6 of us, maybe, depending on how long our answers are). A “work of art” might be a song or film or building, not just fine art. Our faces don’t appear, the visuals can be of the artworks or related to them.

The vid can end with a black screen again, maybe saying “The London Youtube Collective”.

If members like this format but don’t like the question, I’m ok if we do a different one. Here are two suggestions.

    1) Make a political proposal that you think would make a big positive difference if adopted.
    2) Name something that makes you laugh, or has made you laugh in the past.

Sounds good, Kuan. I have some suggestions to make and will try to post them in advance of Sunday'd pitching session.

Looking forward to Sunday, Sean, and to Mark's workshop. But I feel I've lost the YouTube Collective plot along the way. Weren't we looking for 15 secs of video about London, or has that been overtaken by other events? I hastily clipped together some London images, with sound, using Animoto, after our last get-together, but have failed to figure out how to post the result anywhere relevant. Suggestions? (preferably polite and not on a postcard). :)

Great work Michael. The London film is still on, I think. It's just that as of the last meeting we only had my segement. I just posted my one to Youtube but don't know how to put it on cloud storage yet. I guess we'll continue with other activities until we have a respectable number of London segments.
