Savoy Ball- dance to one live dance orchestra and two bands

The annual Savoy Ball on Saturday 23 March at the Old Battersea Town Hall. A building of 1890 with good vibes and a good dance floor and separate tea /drinking area to sit quietly if one chooses. The advert says 'Quickstep and Foxtrot as well as Lindy Hop'. The dance orchestra is The Sticky Wicket's Fabulous String orchestra and is fourteen piece. The other two bands, both of whom I've heard before and have good musicians, are King Candy and the Sugar Push and the very authentic 30s style Shirt Tail Stompers. There is also a vintage record DJ, Mr Martin 'Smartie' Ellis. Cheapest tickets are £25 if you buy before the end of January but there's loads of little extras unless you pay cash, collect the tickets yourself, etc. Despite this, I do think it's good value for money with three bands, and I know and like the Old BatterseaTown Hall.
