So a member (who shall remain nameless...Marta) suggested this night, and it sounds, well...
Here is the description below from their website
Buttoned Down Disco have been running parties in London for over ten years now. Originally, we felt that a lot of clubnights in London were boring and pretentious, so we decided to be proactive and start our own night and play the music that we loved. We also made the parties invite-only, meaning that we kept the random passing trade out, but kept the music lovers in. Since we began in 2002, we have rocked almost 30 different London venues, including Eve Club, Tattershall Castle, Bloomsbury Ballroom, The Scala, Turnmills, The Forum and even the V&A Museum! After years of moving around, we have now settled down with a monthly residency at the magnificent KOKO in Camden. Entry is, as always, strictly invite only.
Musically, the emphasis is firmly on tracks that we like at the time, rather than just the bands of the moment. Club founder Christian Laing and support DJ Pete Wheeler mash up Eclectic Pop, Indie, Punk, Electro, Funk & Disco, although you might also hear some Dubstep, Reggae, Ska, Soul, Motown, Psychedelic Garage Rock, Bubblegum Pop, Baile Funk, New Wave, One Hit Wonders, Breakdance, Quirky Cover Versions, J-Pop, Hip Hop and Mash Ups. Upstairs in the Gallery Bar, Richard Titchener rolls out the house party vibes with hip hop, funk and breaks. Check out the DJ top tens to see where we're at this week, or to get a fuller idea visit the music page.
Our parties are FREE before 10pm, then £10 afterwards, and entry can only be obtained with an invite or a BDD badge. Request invites here. Once you have requested invites, we will send you an email back which will act as your invite. Invites will have full details about the party, including opening times, a map to help you find the place, DJ line ups and details of any drinks promos running that night (I hope they have one on Tap Lemonade!). You then print the invite and bring it along with you on the night - simple. If you want to invite friends along, either get them to sign up, or simply copy your invite for them! All parties are invite only and we operate a door policy to ensure a happy, safe atmosphere for everyone to enjoy the night. In other words - bad attitude is not welcome!
Well as I know there is no bad attituide in Dancing not Drinking this sounds great- so lets get on it! :)
We need to get in by 10 pm to get in for free, so I suggest we meet around 8 at the pub opposite KOKO called The Lyttleton Arms
and then head over about 9/9.30 to make sure we all definitelky get in gratis :)
