I've always enjoyed board games, but didn't get many chances to play until I began to teach in Quebec. A group of teachers would meet up on weekend nights to play board games and I was hooked. It wasn't just a chance to play new games, but a chance to get to know people better. You don't really know people until you see how they act when they're losing miserably at a game!
I prefer board games to card games. I'm always up for trying new games, but some of my favourites are Settlers of Catan, Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, and Risk.
I would say I'm a casual gamer, but from time to time I can become very competitive!
I prefer weekends because my schedule is more open, but I'll take any chance I have to start playing again, even on weekdays.
Definitely pie. The worst pie is still better than the best cake.
I'm 29 and just moved back to London in September after teaching for four years in Quebec. I'm looking forward to getting to know new people and playing new games.
