What or who got you into gaming?

Back when I was a kid, my dad bought me an NES. I was around 4 or 5, when I was in London. My first game was Super Mario Bros 3, which I could never beat, but it captured my attention at a really early age. I liked the challenge, and the colourful style fit right in with all the cartoons I was watching. I was taken in by the worlds that they created, at the experiences they provided. They became a huge part of my social life, and I would meet up with friends to play on the consoles our parents bought us. This is all a lot of lip service just to say: the thing that got me into gaming was the sheer fun of it. That grew out into playing D&D 4e with people, but we could never sync up our schedules. The fun that I had with DMing made me want to try more things like it.

What sort of games do you like to play? What are some of your favorite?

D&D, and GURPS are my favourites, even though I've never gotten it off the ground. I'm somewhat new to playing board games, even though I've done a quite bit of reading. I definitely want to try some new things.

Are you a casual or hardcore gamer?

Somewhere in the middle!

Do you prefer weekday, weekend or like to game whenever you have the chance?

I game when I can! I have a weird schedule so sometimes it's hard to coordinate things, but I'm always playing something.

Cake or Pie? - and why?

Pie. A nice warm apple pie, freshly baked by my mom back in the mountains. You can pretend like pie is healthy, because it (sometimes) has fruit in it! Part of me wants to sway from my answer, thinking of ice cream cake, but then my mind goes to warm apple pie with a spoon of vanilla ice cream on top. Pie.

Hi! I'm Mike. I was born in London but moved out to BC when I was young. I moved back to Ontario a couple of years ago.
