Do you like Lego? Do you live in London? Are you old enough to buy a drink in a pub?
This is an early evening get-together in central London for Adult Fans Of Lego (known as AFOLs). It is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 who likes to build with Lego, no matter what their skill-level is. Some of us have displayed models at exhibitions, others haven't played with Lego since childhood. All are welcome. The idea is to have fun with Lego, and meet new people who also like messing around with Lego.
Usually we take over a corner of the pub, commandeer several tables, buy a drink, tip out huge amounts of Lego bricks and get building. Some months are more structured than others with games and competitions, other times it's just free-build. Not all members build. Some come to meet and chat with other Lego enthusiasts. You might also find people swapping the latest collectible minifigures. Either way is fine with us.
We get together on the second Monday of each month, usually at The Princess Louise pub in Holborn, where good food and excellent beer are on offer. Occasionally, we hold our meetups up at other locations. These have included outside on the grass of Gordon Square (in the summer) and Lego's London office.
The group has its own stock of LEGO, so no need to bring your own.
Photo Policy - members take pics and upload on to the Meetup site, or (very occasionally) the London AFOLs Facebook page. You need to be comfortable with a picture of you appearing online playing with Lego.
N.B. This group is not officially organised, sponsored or sanctioned by The LEGO Group. It is an independent meetup group organised by Lego fans for Lego fans.
