Dear All

Our next Back-to-Basics "The Fundamentals of Life Drawing" 10-week course starting Friday 2 March - Flyer and some snapshots of some of the session handouts attached.

About the course: The 10 week course is suited for anyone wishing to make progress in their life drawing, whatever their levels of accomplishment: the course strips back what you already know of drawing the human figure, and re-builds your techniques and method of drawing the human figure using classical techniques, as well as tips and tricks that help approaching every aspect of drawing the human figure in the life room.
Each session deals with one such aspect, such as for example 'measuring', 'foreshortening', 'drawing hands and feet', 'drawing the human head', 'drawing facial features' etc. I have attached 5 screenshots taken from the handouts of 5 different sessions to give you an idea of the content of some of these sessions.
The course is entirely practice-based so you will get hours upon hours of drawing practice. Each session comes with an extensive handout and exercises for you to deepen the knowledge learned during the session.
This course always ends up a very jolly way to end the week and spend a jolly Friday evening in the company of like-minded people. As with all our classes, we provide hot food (pizza etc.) and snacks during the break.

Dates: 10 Fridays starting 2 March 2012, with a 3 week break for Easter holidays:
  1 02/03/2012
  2 09/03/2012
  3 16/03/2012

Feedback from previous students of the course: If you'd like feedback from previous students of the course - many of the people who attend our drop-in classes Mondays/Thursdays have taken ths course in the past years, so if you would like some feedback, you can ask around or we can point you towards someone who has done the course previously.

Cost: The cost is £120 (£100 concessions: students, retirees, out of work, low-waged) and this includes everything - all materials incl. paper. As always we provide easels / trestles and different models for every session. Attendee numbers are limited to ensure that there is enough teaching time for each student on the course. Any sessions missed can be taken again during the next run of the course (runs 2x a year).

Do let us know if you are interested.

Very warm regards
