New start to our well-known "Back to the Basics of Life Drawing" Course
where we look in depth at all the fundamentals needed for life drawing. We start at the very beginning, by learning various systems to simplify drawing the human figure; we then look at all the other issues that students typically struggle with, such as foreshortening and perspective, measuring, how to draw facial features, hands & feet, how to use shadow & light, and so on. Basic anatomy is incorporated into the classes, but not as a separate lecture. The entire course is strongly focused on practice - it is practice based, not lecture based. Everything is taught in the process of you practising your skills.
The course aims at providing 'insider information' - tips and tricks and shortcuts that artists use when drawing the human figure, so that by the end of the course you will have hugely improved your life drawing skills. Past students have commented how much the course has improved their drawing practice, and immensely increased their confidence in the life room. One student went on to be accepted for the Princes Trust Drawing Year within 3 months of finishing the course.
Places are limited and booking is essential. This is not a drop-in class. Should you not be able to attend one or more of the sessions, you can attend the respective sessions in the next Back to Basics course, at no extra cost. We run about 3-4 per year.
Designed specifically to provide the basics of life drawing to anyone with an interest - from those who have not drawn in life room settings before to those more experienced who want to refresh their drawing skills.
