Monday night gaming

If you are new to London on Board check out this guide for new players. If you have any questions on the night or are having trouble getting into a game, then look out for the night's host, listed to the right.

If you plan on attending please RSVP. We only have 50 chairs and it gets uncomfortable for everyone if more people than that turn up. Similarly, please change your RSVP to no if it turns out you can't make it.

Attention! LoB is part of NineWorlds, a weekend-long, multi-genre convention in London this summer, August 9th-11th, "the mutant hybrid of a science fiction convention crossed with a TED talks conference". It's full of: film and film-making, Doctor Who, science, feminism, Tolkien, SF&F academia, video games,  roleplaying, Discworld, social gaming, SF&F,creative writing, Star Wars, queer fandom, steampunk, open culture, Star Trek, Whedon, skepticism, costuming, comics, anime and J-culture. And boardgaming of course. Get along to the forums for details and a longer discussion. Advance tickets on sale for a discount now.

Thankyou Ricardo. That si going to change the game a bit at our local place now! Well something good came out of that for me if nothing else!

Riccardo and Bijmeister I realised something today. My ships were shooting with missiles. Initiative didn't come into the equation. Victory should have been mine.

Good game of GoT last night, I felt I was very kind to demonstrate to the newbies how devastating a seaborne invasion can be, revenge will be mine Pouria!

Also demonstrates how powerful alliances can be! He was able to go to town on Tyrell as I wasn't savaging his northern border. All in all a good game!

Last night was my 4th evening to eat while gaming, massive delays in the kitchen, I had the lamb and mint burger. I spent the night getting sick and still not right this morning. Beware of the food at this place quality appears to be one in four! Really not happy....

Is there a board game that is physically very big and is suitable for 10 people+ (Big being 2x1metre+ )

    Just curious...

Okay, so my suggestion of garden games, or double-twister is out? :-p

Talisman/Wow/BSG sprung to my mind but they all cap at 6/7. :-( Would 5 teams of 2 be an option?

Is there some 10-player-friendly 18xx game?

      March 13, 2013

    • Waiman

I think WoW is the biggest one I have seen so far.

Hi, this will be my first meet up. Happy to play anything on the night. I can bring a few games inc twilight, Agricola, Stone Age etc but not Star Trek fleet captains as its huge! Anyone up for a game of scrabble, I'm there.

    1 · March 12, 2013

    • Behrooz S.

Welcome! I quite fancy another game of Agricola or a first game of Stone Age.

Scrabble, as well as some other popular games, are frowned upon here purely because they have clubs dedicated to them and with growing numbers, the organisers have chosen to focus on games that are difficult to get to play elsewhere.

Check 'other questions' near the bottom. :-)

Unfortunately, can't do Monday now but will be there on Tuesday now. Are you going that night. Don't worry I'd really prefer to play euros rather than scrabble. I play that all the time in tournaments and leagues.
