G'day Mate!

If you are new to London on Board check out this guide for new players. If you have any questions on the night or are having trouble getting into a game, then look out for the night's host, listed to the right.

If you plan on attending please RSVP. We only have 50 chairs and it gets uncomfortable for everyone if more people than that turn up. Similarly, please change your RSVP to no if it turns out you can't make it.

Tonights theme is in honour of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Australian Capital, which is Canberra not Sydney. Play games featuring Australia or anything tangentially related to Australia. Or failing that just play in an Australian accent.

Of course, you are free as always to play or do whatever you like.

Just wanted to say thanks to the 18XX crowd for taking a sleep deprived newb through a game. It's was a great game and despite appearances I did get it!

Much thanks for Room 25 Paul -it would be nice to not be evil just once though... Biblios was differently interesting. I also got to read up on Campaign Manager that I'd want to play and Sultans of K as another backstabbing game that I've never actually seen played.

Cheers Jacob. It was bad luck on your half to never experience being a prisoner. Next time.

Great fun again tonight. (Have uploaded some photos.) Played DungeonQuest (1987) then two games of Mensa Connections which was really interesting (could have easily played more games of this) and then two rowdy games of Resistance. Ten players all protesting their innocence!

    • Stuart (.

You should have taken my advice and scarpered from the dungeon when you found that 40 GP bracelet near the beginning. You would have emerged the victor! ;)

      March 13, 2013

    • Stuart (.

Also, thank you for introducing me to Mensa Connections/Ingenious; I found it fascinating.

Room 25 was great. Definitely want to get it. Then taught resistance to a very large group. 2 games of 10 players was great fun.

    1 · March 12, 2013

    • Rowan G.

Was a good couple games of resistance :) thanks for doing the teaching ;)

      March 13, 2013

    • Charlie

agreed, thanks for being teacher! next time on Resistance: plot cards!

      March 13, 2013

  • Paul A.

Introduced Room 25 to a bunch o' people (1 loss to a canny guard, 1 win!) then a few rounds of Kakerlaken (the ultimate mind game) followed up by Biblios (which is quite clever).
    No Australian games in evidence.

      Who were the first 2?

Good game. I wonder if a Stone Age (ignore food) strategy would work? The two newbies to Tzolkin did well.

Having missed the game a few weeks ago, anyone interested in playing Game of Thrones 2Ed?

Bringing Carcassonne (with Inns & Cathedrals and Traders & Builders expansions; although wobbly with the Builders rule), Citadels, Jenga (in a spiffing new pink bag) plus DungeonQuest (1987) with places for two more players.

    March 12, 2013

  • Stuart (.

May bring DungeonQuest (Games Workshop version) and tweak it for the night's theme; the dragon will be replaced with a bunyip, the magic rings will be magic didgeridoos and El-Adoran Sureshot will have boomerangs instead of arrows. (Played it on Saturday at the Old Star for the first time since 1987 so should be able to muddle through the rules.)

Okay, Charlie! Fret not, Piers; I shall bring it along another day too when you are recovered. (I shall probably turn up around 6.)

The 18xx gang will be hosting a newbie-friendly?, Scott-less and possibly Will-less game of 1846. Any interest?

    March 7, 2013

    • Scott A.

We can probably squeeze two more newbies in, we will have two tables going, Sam, what time are you planning to get there? Vika, 6.30 should be do-able.

      March 11, 2013

    • Sam G.

I think I will be there around 6, maybe earlier depending how work goes.

Not going to venture into London today with all the delayed trains etc. Have several funs!

I've got the latest Blood Bowl Team Manager expansion. It's like Aussie Rules football but with more gratuitous violence. Also Sentinels of the Multiverse has a Moari hero and so counts.

    March 11, 2013

    • Tabla R.

I'd be up for playing both of those games. I've played BB before, and have heard good things Sentinels.

Back in the day, I had a fun game called Poleconomy. Like Monopoly, but more fun. That's the only Aussie board game I can think of!

    March 5, 2013

    • Stephen E.

Is someone planning to play World in Flames?

      March 10, 2013

    • Behrooz S.

I'm not going to look it up on the 'geek for fear of inevitable disappointment. But I really hope that Poleconomy is all about founding a pole fitness club.

Wanting to play a dungeonny quest type game! Not sure how that fits with the theme, we could argue the coriolis effect and play any game counter-clockwise :)

    March 6, 2013

Ugh. Horrible cold developing. Don't want to get you all ill.
