Monday night gaming

If you are new to London on Board check out this guide for new players. If you have any questions on the night or are having trouble getting into a game, then look out for the night's host, listed to the right.

If you plan on attending please RSVP. We only have 50 chairs and it gets uncomfortable for everyone if more people than that turn up. Similarly, please change your RSVP to no if it turns out you can't make it.

Attention! LoB is part of NineWorlds, a weekend-long, multi-genre convention in London this summer, August 9th-11th, "the mutant hybrid of a science fiction convention crossed with a TED talks conference". It's full of: film and film-making, Doctor Who, science, feminism, Tolkien, SF&F academia, video games,  roleplaying, Discworld, social gaming, SF&F,creative writing, Star Wars, queer fandom, steampunk, open culture, Star Trek, Whedon, skepticism, costuming, comics, anime and J-culture. And boardgaming of course. Get along to the forums for details and a longer discussion. Advance tickets on sale for a discount now.

I had a great time. I learned two new games-- Power Grid and ...Coup? I think. The former being quite long and a little tricky to learn at first and the latter being short and sweet. Both of them were good fun. Thanks for everyone who helped me out with explaining the rules and how things work. Hope to be back soon!

Good fun with Dungeon Quest - sorry Stuart that the Snotlings killed you in the first room! Enjoyed Coup very much, thank you to Charlie, Atilla and Jenna for many rounds of fun. Hope to see you all next week!

I think there's a special Hall of Fame for DungeonQuest players who die in the first round.

Humiliating defeat on my first turn in DungeonQuest thanks to some snotlings but the other three players all escaped with Attila triumphing with 410 GPs (after a cat and mouse game with a persistent goblin in a chamber of darkness). Then Carcassonne, Coup, Dragons Y Mazmorras and Dungeon Roll before finishing up with the Cat In A Sack.

I'll bring Ladies & Gentlemen - itching to try it out.

"The unusual and asymmetric game Ladies & Gentlemen brings players into the world of glamour. In teams of two – one playing a man, the other a woman – the players try to pull together the best-looking and most famous couple who will attend the big ball!"

Lots of enthusiasm for Descent, a bit too much in fact. The Terrinoth Heroes Union operates a strict seniority policy, so based on when they first joined the quest I make tonight's party to be: Me, Chris, Mike E, Sam and David E.

Apologies to Csilla and Charlie, it's not because you got killed several times and ran away and then got eaten by a dragon, promise!

I'm in a DungeonQuesty mood so may bring DungeonQuest; the Games Workshop 1987 one with Catacomb cards thrown in (but not the actual Catacombs as I don't like them). Also will nick the excellent dynamic sun rule from the Fantasy Flight release for added mercy and tension.
