Kids Don't Follow (Tuesday night gaming)

As few, if any at all, pays any attention to the suggested themes, why not make it challenging and exotic, so tonight's theme is:

Oooh! Fluffy bunny rabbits, little ponies, pink stuff - and cake!

So you are encouraged to bring and play games somehow matching any or all of the above.

As the world premiere, main event, hopefully, we can play a mashup of:

Jenga Pink Girl Talk Edition

and

Cards Against Humanity

Free beer prize to the person who brings the most and best games on theme.

If you are new to London on Board check out this guide for new players. If you have any questions on the night or are having trouble getting into a game, then look out for the night's host, listed to the right.

If you plan on attending please RSVP. We only have 50 chairs and it gets uncomfortable for everyone if more people than that turn up. Similarly, please change your RSVP to no if it turns out you can't make it.

Attention! LoB is part of NineWorlds, a weekend-long, multi-genre convention in London this summer, August 9th-11th, "the mutant hybrid of a science fiction convention crossed with a TED talks conference". It's full of: film and film-making, Doctor Who, science, feminism, Tolkien, SF&F academia, video games,  roleplaying, Discworld, social gaming, SF&F,creative writing, Star Wars, queer fandom, steampunk, open culture, Star Trek, Whedon, skepticism, costuming, comics, anime and J-culture. And boardgaming of course. Get along to the forums for details and a longer discussion. Advance tickets on sale for a discount now.

Mousquetaires du Roy: as predicted, super fiddly but an involving co-op once we understood it. Paul enjoyed his role as Milady far too much and all the crises boiled over at the end. Good stuff. Infarkt: the usual lunacy - Alex somehow ended up with no money, no food and depressed, leaving her no viable actions but to hide at home. A familiar situation to most of LoB.

Well, that's what came to my mind, the first time I heard this title!

Fauna - Finally an English edition of this acclaimed trivia, and it is a good, fun and even educational game.
    .....
Cards Against Humanity - Always great, obscene, offensive fun.
    .....
Dixit - Not a favourite of mine, but good fun this time.
    .....
Cards Against Humanity - Yes, again.

4-player Settlers Of Catan where I had a battle of wills over the longest road with Graham, an 8-player Dixit Odyssey where for the third time my "Ozymandias" clue scored me zero and then a 3-player game of Ark Of The Covenant with a couple of failed prophets failing to save citizens from sin.

I'm pretty sure it was 4 of us playing Ark of the Covenant...

Played age of Empires. Did not start out wanting to be mean (REALLY) but some how ended up with lots of soldiers, and you know what soldiers make, no not prizes, bullets! Good game, quite close. The two newbies to the club seemed to enjoy which was the best result.

Only managed to get the one game in this week - a very enjoyable 'Age of Empires'. The name suggests a sweeping, epic war game but in fact it is a cunning worker-placer. In defence of my rather poor placing, I only sorted out my high-population strategy (such as it was) about 2/3 the way through )-:

I think the highlight of this evening was trying to explain what "Steampunk Hentai" was to Attila during a game of Dixit Odyssey.

I shall bring Mousquetaires du Roy: an opposed coop in which the Musketeers battle Milady to find the Queen's pendants before end of the game. Swordplay, trickery, puffy shirts - what more could you want?

Read the rules. Lots of options. But sounds good fun. Happy to play as the baddie Milady! She has loads more fun screwing the musketters over. Lol.

"Oooh! Fluffy bunny rabbits, little ponies, pink stuff - and cake!" Were Lincoln's last words, so I'll bring Western Town. And probably Bunny Bunny Moose Moose if Gabi will be about...

Well I have made a Cylons Against Humanity for a friend as a gift, but I only have the text of the cards with me, I've sent the only produced copy to her... Would that be in theme enough? :)

A night for my pink Jenga: Girls Talk to shine!

Suppose I should bring Dixit along too as the pawns are rabbits so on theme.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
