Hey all, my friend Ed Saperia is turning up with a prototype game called Mobsters that came out of a game design night we have (http://paperjamgamejam.tumblr.c...).
It's a fastish paced fairly lightweight game where you take the part of a Mobster struggling for control of the Big Apple. It's for 4 players, takes 1-2 hours, and is about the same level of complexity as Catan or Stone age. It has some nice mechanics and emergent complexity.
Anyone up for helping playtest this? It's in late stages of development so is very playable and definitely fun, and has a publisher, but we'd love to get more feedback from experienced gamers.
We'll probably try to get a game or two going around 2pm onwards when the first game of the day has concluded for a few people.

Anyone for 11am Eclipse?
For new players this is a space empire building game with multiple possible paths to victory. It's 6th highest rates game on boardgame geek. It's got dice, combat and other Amerigame elements but also some elegant Eurogame style mechanics. It will take about 3.5 hours to play.
For vets, we play with the expansion which addresses some of the weaknesses of the base game, with ways to combat missiles, a beefier gcds and a cute enhancement to first player mechanics.

From 11:00 at the "Hosts' Table" will be Arkham Horror - a classic, cooperative "us vs. monsters" game set in the 1920's. Rules Explanation will start at about 11:10 for newbies, and the game will probably kick off at around 11:25 or so. If you'd like to join the game, send me a private message by clicking on my name and then choosing the 'send message' link.
