Tuesday night gaming

If you are new to London on Board check out this guide for new players. If you have any questions on the night or are having trouble getting into a game, then look out for the night's host, listed to the right.

If you plan on attending please RSVP. We only have 50 chairs and it gets uncomfortable for everyone if more people than that turn up. Similarly, please change your RSVP to no if it turns out you can't make it.

Attention! LoB is part of NineWorlds, a weekend-long, multi-genre convention in London this summer, August 9th-11th, "the mutant hybrid of a science fiction convention crossed with a TED talks conference". It's full of: film and film-making, Doctor Who, science, feminism, Tolkien, SF&F academia, video games,  roleplaying, Discworld, social gaming, SF&F,creative writing, Star Wars, queer fandom, steampunk, open culture, Star Trek, Whedon, skepticism, costuming, comics, anime and J-culture. And boardgaming of course. Get along to the forums for details and a longer discussion. Advance tickets on sale for a discount now.

Had a great time playing Legend of Drizzt with 3 new players. I under-estimated their gaming prowess by sending them on an adventure that wasn't particularly challenging! They did go away wanting to play the game again, provided we played an adventure that was a tad more difficult. We also had characters from the other D&D dungeon crawlers, so we may have been a little over powered! I also played Discworld - Ankh Morpork for the second time ever and I enjoyed it much more than when I first encountered it, which was many moons ago. I think my exposure to other games has led me to appreciate the mechanics of Discworld a lot better.

I've got the newly released Catan expansion - Explorers and Pirates - which I haven't played yet (it only came out late April).
I'm still on the waiting list at the moment - but would be interested to know if there are some others who want to give it a shot.

If you do get off the list, I wouldn't mind trying it out. Sounds fun.

Well - I think we scratched the surface of explorers and pirates today - but clearly depths await in the later scenarios.
Still not a bad tryout given that no-one had played before - thanks for deflowering my game!

Augustus - I can see why it's up for Speil des Jahres, a bit busy but nice little game; Junta Viva El Presidente - not bad, think it needs the "advanced" rules, we peasants squabbled too much amongst ourselves to give Paul the win; Lost Legacies - pretty much like Love Letter, which is still good; Dream Factory: in which the draw shafted me utterly.

Oops - left my copy of Junta behind. If someone could just drop it in the game box, that'd be grand.

Skulls and Roses, Guillotine and... 5 or 6 back to back games of Resistance/Avalon. I think I'm a bad influence on the future of LoB ;-) Thanks to everyone for some great quests!

Do any of this ring any bells? Well why not take vengeance upon the denizens of those dungeons you explored and join me in a game of Legend of Drizzt. It's a co-op dungeon crawler with a traitor mechanic built in. I have slots for 4 more players.

Do you have space for one more? I will be able to make it by 6.

I have Indonesia in my bag, which is a fairly complex game about selling and shipping different goods for 3-5 players. If I can't get a game of that going I'd quite like to try Terra Mystica again, or perhaps Libertalia or Trajan if anyone has those...

I'll be up for learning Indonesia.

Switched my RSVP to no because I am unsure if I'll get out of my nearby conference in time and want someone to get the slot. May pop in and observe for a few minutes on the way home.

Figure I'll bring in some stuff there's been a demand for before: Junta Via El Presidente and Seeland.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
