Monday night gaming

If you are new to London on Board check out this guide for new players. If you have any questions on the night or are having trouble getting into a game, then look out for the night's host, listed to the right.

If you plan on attending please RSVP. We only have 50 chairs and it gets uncomfortable for everyone if more people than that turn up. Similarly, please change your RSVP to no if it turns out you can't make it.

Attention! LoB is part of NineWorlds, a weekend-long, multi-genre convention in London this summer, August 9th-11th, "the mutant hybrid of a science fiction convention crossed with a TED talks conference". It's full of: film and film-making, Doctor Who, science, feminism, Tolkien, SF&F academia, video games,  roleplaying, Discworld, social gaming, SF&F,creative writing, Star Wars, queer fandom, steampunk, open culture, Star Trek, Whedon, skepticism, costuming, comics, anime and J-culture. And boardgaming of course. Get along to the forums for details and a longer discussion. Advance tickets on sale for a discount now.

Useful list. I had already forgotten some of the names of the games I played. Dixit and Saboteur were good fun. I'll certainly be returning to try out a few more.

Ligretto, Jackal & High, Kakerlaken Poker, Saboteur, Avalon :) Thanks for a great night!

Some very nice lighter games today, all very enjoyable :D Especially liked Tweeeet, which sounds nice but can be quite nasty!

Tweeeet was surprisingly fun! had a modicum of deviousness about it, but also co-operative play. the look of it was appealing too in a cute way

An evening of light games - trailed Forbidden Desert (the same but different to Forbidden Island, and may be actually harder and better), a few hands of Hanabi (with positively Stygian scores) and finished with Qwixx (sp?) (actually kinda neat).

Qwixx is my new favourite game. Almost could have been designed by Sid Sackson - simple genius

    1 · July 30, 2013

Coup, Qwixx, Carcassonne, Settlers Of Catan and then mathsy Perudo (but I got to play with orange dice).

I have been playing lots of hardcore thinking games with lots of choices but no violence. Having recently played Primordial Soup I have realised these games have been missing from my life recently and need to be re-included. If no-one has any particular hankering I will find something from my stash but would love a game of Cyclades, or even something more subtle, Dominant Species, Age of Empires, Kemet,..... Anything with a beat down element please!

      I can bring cyclades

Would this event be as good as any for someone who hasn't played anything in a while? I'd be looking for a relatively easy game to ease myself back in.

It would be perfect - I will be running some lighter games
