Tuesday night gaming

If you are new to London on Board check out this guide for new players. If you have any questions on the night or are having trouble getting into a game, then look out for the night's host, listed to the right.

If you plan on attending please RSVP. We only have 50 chairs and it gets uncomfortable for everyone if more people than that turn up. Similarly, please change your RSVP to no if it turns out you can't make it.

Well I suppose the evening was saved by having a gossip outside the girls toilets with Csilla.

And thank you to Bez for giving me the strength to refuse future games of Hanabi.

Really enjoyed trying Tales of the arabian nights, such a great concept, though how being an enslaved, imprisoned, sex-changed pilgrim didnt rate high on the story scsle I don't know!

Ave Caesar - Always fun racing game. With five players and Barry and I going last, we were blocked from the beginning - me forced to discard four of my first six cards without moving. Never really recovered, but at least prevented Barry from even finishing the race.
    .....
Tales Of Arabian Nights - Finally got to try this crazy, funny, storytelling game. Would love an iPad app to handle the table/story lookups, though, so that it could be played much faster.
    .....
Dobble - Always great, fun, speed recognition game. The perfect speed recognition game - will never be bettered.
    .....
Krosmaster Arena - Still good as a team game with random characters although obviously that loses all the character/team selection strategy. Again, a seemingly inevitable win went to hell.

We started with Tales of the Ludicrous Nights (everyone is imprisoned or mad or enslaved), followed up with a weird game of Skull & Roses (bets were timid or wild), then Dobble (a.k.a. This Game is Bullshit) and finished with Krosmaster, which I unfortunately had to run off from. Thanks all.

Cosmic Encounter! And one of our players should be down from Leeds which is cool. I'll need 3 or 4 more players to bring it up to a health 5 or 6 payer game.

      Is there space?

      September 10, 2013

    • Riccardo F.

We might have space but we'd have to split into two groups, we'll see when we come in

So, due to popular demand, it's another session of Tales of the Arabian Nights. Will gets first refusal of a spot and then anyone who hasn't played before.

      September 10, 2013

Been a while since I've attended any of these; what time should I aim to get there to get a game? 5:30 is a bit early for me.

People are generally still arriving up to 6.30 or so. Plus, games start and finish and groups split up, so you should be fine.

I saw Jakob is out, but I'm keen on playing Lords Of Waterdeep if anyone has it.

total newbie here, any games that i can join/pick up quickly so as not to slow 'em down?

    1 · September 10, 2013

    • Behrooz S.

Welcome to the group. Don't worry about not knowing the rules to any game. Even the oldest members are still learning new games and rules explanations are generally expected to be required. Carcassonne is a lovely, simple game but if you see folk starting a game that looks exciting to you, don't feel shy about asking if there's space for one more.

      September 10, 2013

    • Paul A.

Tom, there will be plenty of games you can pick up. Find the host when you get here and you get into something suitable.

    September 9, 2013
