Monday night gaming

If you are new to London on Board check out this guide for new players. If you have any questions on the night or are having trouble getting into a game, then look out for the night's host, listed to the right.

If you plan on attending please RSVP. We only have 50 chairs and it gets uncomfortable for everyone if more people than that turn up. Similarly, please change your RSVP to no if it turns out you can't make it.

There was an aborted Carcassonne tournament so I managed to round up some waifs and strays for the Winter Edition and Hunters & Gatherers. Also played TransAmerica and its continental cousin TransEuropa as well as a reaction dice game called Wicked Witches' Way which had a nice scoreboard.

By "nice" scoreboard I guess you mean "terrible"? But fun game.

No, I liked the scoreboard as it had a fun picture (despite arrows probably being better than dashes to illustrate which way the twisty scoring route went). I don't really enjoy reaction games so the scoreboard was me finding a positive about the game.

Wicked Witches Way - Good, fun, push your luck, speed recognition game.
    .....
Town Center (2x) - Ok, 3D sequel to Card City. Much more brain-burning "puzzle" part. Much more random and less interesting "I divide, you choose" mechanism "game" part. Would like to try again using adapted Card City mechanism.
    .....
Pix - Ok, fun, pixel-drawing take on Pictionary.
    .....
Municipium - Ok, area control game, but too messy with the different location and card special abilities and too random with the meeple and card draws.

First up was Oregon, and then three games I haven't played for ages: a fast King of Tokyo, with a dramatic climax; The Climbers where we slowly took the mountain to pieces and then built it up again; finally String Railway.
