Board Games on Saturday

SPECIAL NOTE:  Due to a Christmas Party, this event finishes at 5:30 p.m.

Every week, London-on-Board hits The Old Star pub in Westminster for a few pints, some good pub grub, and of course, lots and lots of board games.

We're immediately across the road from St. James' Park tube station, so it really can't get more convenient, and we're normally there for 9 solid hours of gaming goodness!!!

Newbies especially welcome and if you get there at 11:00 a.m. prompt, you're most likely to not have to wait around to hop into a game straight-away.

RSVP's for all weekend events open up approximately two weeks before the event itself.

Special Note: If you're a gamer visiting London from abroad, and would like to attend one of our meetups, send a message to one of the organisers (Jeff or Martin) with the dates you are in London and we'll make sure you get a slot at one of our upcoming events.

Played Chaos in the Old World with Horned Rat expansion. So, 5 players (4 total newbies and a veteran of 1 game). It took 4 hr to teach and play, with lots of discussion about best moves. Fun. Then played Love Letter for the first time, both Japanese and European versions. Hooked!

Oops, that should be Kanai edition, not Japanese edition, I learn.

Got the horned rat, too. So with Jonathon, Ben and Carlos we are 4. Room for one more. I'll be there from 11 am on, too.Don't mind playing something else first if someone is late.

I have an interesting new area control space conquest game called Hegemonic if anyone fancies trying something heavier. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/92666/hegemonic
I could also bring Terra Mystica, Mage Knight, Imperial 2030 if there's interest. In addition to Waterdeep! ;-)

Anyone interested in diving into the 'exciting' world of 18XX games?

I believe it - it was the quotes that made me do it.

      December 12, 2013

    • Riccardo F.

I was actually quoting someone there. Those aren't scare quotes at all!

This week I'll be bringing the board game adaptation of the hit video game DOOM. It's for 4 players total, and I can easily teach the rules. I'll be bringing the parts for Act 1 of the in-box campaign which I anticipate will take about 40 minutes to an hour to get through.

I'll take that last slot if possible, it sounded interesting from what you said last time

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
