Board Games on Sunday

Every week, London-on-Board hits The Old Star pub in Westminster for a few pints, some good pub grub, and of course, lots and lots of board games.

We're immediately across the road from St. James' Park tube station, so it really can't get more convenient, and we're normally there for 9 solid hours of gaming goodness!!!

Newbies especially welcome and if you get there at 11:00 a.m. prompt, you're most likely to not have to wait around to hop into a game straight-away.

RSVP's will open up for this meetup approximately two weeks before the event.

Special Note: If you're a gamer visiting London from abroad, and would like to attend one of our meetups, send a message to one of the organisers (Jeff or Martin) with the dates you are in London and we'll make sure you get a slot at one of our upcoming events.

Oops I hit edit too soon. Yes in general people will be ignored except in the break between games although I thought most people will spot someone looking lost although this time someone suggested non gamers were coming up because the lower floors were full and so not assumed to be looking for a game

Am sorry to see the comments - normally we have hosts at the weekend meetups, but in the period between Christmas/New Year's, most of the regular hosts were away/unavailable, so this one was 'unhosted'... I'd like to think that normally we do a pretty good job of making sure that newbies are warmly welcomed, and I'm fairly sure that most of the members that have attended on Sunday were made to feel welcome when they first came!

To those who had asked about Lewis & Clark's original theme: the game revolved around French villages circa 1900. Building canoes was once baking bread. Ludonaute wanted a less tired theme.

LOB's great, and I think slightly different vibes depending on which evening/day you go to.

Sorry, but standing around for half while others gamed wasn't my idea of fun so left. Somebody turned up by the bar where I was but then a group came from downstairs and asked him to be their fourth player, completely ignoring me despite the fact I was stood next to them. Humph...

anyone else like Magic The Gathering?

I enjoy the game, but rarely play constructed anymore. I often draft on Tuesdays or Fridays. Have you tried the Games Club? http://www.thegamescl...

Magic isn't something we play at meetups as it is outside the scope of LoB, but feel free to post on the forum rather than the event pages to see if you can find any interested players.
