Monday night gaming

If you are new to London on Board check out this guide for new players. If you have any questions on the night or are having trouble getting into a game, then look out for the night's host, listed to the right.

If you plan on attending please RSVP. We only have 55 chairs and it gets uncomfortable for everyone if more people than that turn up. Similarly, please change your RSVP to no if it turns out you can't make it.

Really good evening. Played Spyrium, which i still like, and then Coup with the man himself, Rikki, and The City…which initially had me fairly annoyed playing the German cards without paste ups, but even with Pouria on hand, by the end i was glad of the 10 hours it took me to paste up my version!! Little things…thanks all, really enjoyed it. see you soon. (btw, have always responded to the email you get - how was meet up - and then written my review, but am noticing they don't seem to get posted….hmmn.. so this might be the first time you've seen me comment post-match! LOL)

Brilliant (if somewhat long) game of BSG

  • Chris H.

Particularly enjoyed playing Battlestar Galactica hosted by Mike. Ended up as CAG, Admiral and President. ;-) Would you buy a used car from this man? Apparently you would!

It's always a tough day playing against Katy and James and Bijan. Second place in Myrmes, third in Endeavour. I need to get better in both games :)

Full of gamers, doing what gamers do. I played Spyrium, The mighty Abluxxen, Coup and The City

  • Nathan

Good fun. Abluxxen which I did not understand at first but did enjoy and vaguely understood by the end (would definitely play again); Cartagena (forgot to hold back on my second to last round and handed victory to Paul); Hab & Gut (first win ever, Pouria was decidedly uncharitable and 3 stocks finished at the top, a very lucrative game); Through the Desert (snuck a 2 point win as the camels battled it out - we counted the pieces afterwards to make sure no one ate any of them); Botswana (Pouria completely tanked one round for everyone and did really well on the rest for an easy victory). Thanks everyone for making my colleagues feel welcome, they had a good time.

Played Ark Of The Covenant (oops, left about a dozen tiles in the bag), Carcassonne twice and once with the Inns & Cathedrals and Traders & Builders expansions plus Marrakech and bluffing fillers Skull & Roses and Kakerlaken Poker.

First time here. Games was fun, people were nice. Definitely coming back for more games. ;)

As desired, an evening of lighter games. Uh: Abluxxen, Cartegna, Kings of Tokyo, Hanabi, Perudo, Cartgena again, Perudo again. Just what the doctor ordered.

A four-player game of Eclipse should be achievable in an evening - volunteers?

    March 23, 2014

    • Haakon

No problem. We have room for 1 more then, anyone interested?

      March 24, 2014

    • Alex W.

Currently projecting c.ten minutes late - could you use the time to recruit a fourth?

Will bring Carcassonne plus its prehistoric and Biblical variants Hunters & Gatherers and Ark Of The Covenant as well as Marrakech, TransAmerica, Dino Hunt Dice and Coup.

    March 24, 2014

    • Diogo F.

Count me in for Carcassonne variants as well.

  • Barry

Looks like I snuck in. Won't be there until 18:30 or so, but happy to join anything.

    March 24, 2014

  • Mike E

Battlestar Galactica will be flying again. A couple of spots are available. (Please indicate if you've played before so that we can balance the game).

    March 23, 2014

    • Chris H.

I can make 17:30. Not played BSG before, but fast on the uptake.

      March 24, 2014

    • Mike E

Great that will do. The Battlestar is now closed and we are ready for take off.

      March 24, 2014

  • Sarah V

I will be new to all games and keen to try anything that has a free spot.

    March 24, 2014

    • Nathan

Karl is hosting and will get you into some not so hardcore games. Also, if you are a nice person feel free to look out for me, I am bringing some colleagues who will be learning new games also. But really pretty much every game is taught before playing commences so you have nothing to worry about.

1st comment. Whoop. I've not got ants in my pants, it's Myrmes time. Can the other 3 reply here confirming it is going ahead.

    1 · March 12, 2014

    • Bijmeister

Sad but I am really looking forward to this..

      March 24, 2014

    • Dávid T.

Well I'll be there around 6, so we should be golden for both!

      March 24, 2014

  • Nathan

Got Hab & Gut and Through the Desert. Some colleagues coming with so looking for lighter games most of the evening. Can't really say no to a spot of Dobble now can we? Got Ginkopolis for Teri, although I may play it later also.

  • Pouria

    Anyone up for trying Wildcatters?

    1 · March 20, 2014

    • Pouria

Think you might be right, but it is in the bag just in case we get two adventurous types.

      March 24, 2014

    • Amo

I'd like to do Wildcatters, but I am not at the event today as I have to go elsewhere. I think David was very interested in the game but am unsure if he will be there that day

Anyone interested in Spyrium? I played it recently and loved it…really interesting, different mechanisms… let me know.

    March 21, 2014

    • Mark C.

OK! I'll bring it! See you there. I normally arrive before 630, sometimes a bit earlier. :)

      March 23, 2014

    • Rikki T.

Ok will prob be there by 6

      March 23, 2014

I am new to board games, I have only played monopoly. What should I play to start with?

    1 · March 22, 2014

    • Paul A.

Hi Phyllis. Just show up and talk to the host for the night. They'll be able to get you into some appropriate game. Everyone is happy to teach.

      March 22, 2014

  • Paul A.

Stumbling in after a conference in town. In the mood for lighter games, I think.
