The Yard on Sunday

Newbies especially welcome and if you get there at 10:00 a.m. prompt, you're most likely to not have to wait around to hop into a game straight-away.

RSVP's will open up for this meetup approximately two weeks before the event.

Special Note: If you're a gamer visiting London from abroad, and would like to attend one of our meetups, send a message to one of the organisers (Jeff or Martin) with the dates you are in London and we'll make sure you get a slot at one of our upcoming events.

If anyone is still reading this a geeklist has appears, add any of the multitude of games I presumably missed: http://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/171316/games-played-at-london-on-board-16-03-2014

Fantastic time once again, although it did start a little slow with Spy or Die Trying. It seemed to be too easy for the spies to overcome the Evil Genius and his minions tbh. Then a quick game of Room 25 where I was the guard/traitor and proceeded to try and play the waiting game by doing stupid things to waste time. And it almost worked!

Next was a game of Eurphoria, with me being the sole person who had played it before. This slowed things down a bit but we got going towards the end. Following that I played Carcassonne vanilla flavour and somehow managed to convince everyone around the table that I had no idea what I was doing by giving silly names to my towns and then romping home with a massive win. I am a bad person.

Finished up with a 4 player game of Epic Duels of the Wizards of Skullfyre Mountain, a game I have a great deal of fondness for even if I have yet to win a single play session.

No way was there 65 players here.
Had two trial games of Spy or Die Trying (fun enough, but the defenders were creamed because I got some rules wrong), Room 25 (awesome), Pears (soufle-light but entertaining), Modern Art (a classic), and ended with Epic Duels of the Wizards of Skullfyre Mountain (which was epic). Thanks all.

I'd agree with Paul's unofficial count, I'm afraid by the time I remembered the new policy it was too late to take a register. While I don't think we were completely full at any point there was a reasonable change of gamers in that I noticed new people coming in throughout as other people left. Obviously people RSVPing and only coming for a short time is it's own problem but it does mean the total attendance wasn't as bad as it looked at times.

I think a turnout of 50 for a day like yesterday is excellent TBH.

Cheers for teaching Terra Mystica, Marco. Thoroughly enjoyed that! Also for the very corrupt game of LoW :) Great meeting you all / gaming with yas!

Had to drop out of Saturday--but hoping to get a game of Twilight Imperium III started: the game that puts "epic" into "space opera". 9th on the waitlist though so might not get in. Anyone interested? Happy to teach it; it's brilliant stuff!

Throwing in Spy or Die Trying http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/138682/spy-or-die-trying , a coop where superspies try to break into a supervillians base and steal plans.

I'm bringing a bunch of games that I've had for ages, but never got around to playing! Serenissima - sailing around the place in cool plastic galleys. The Castles of Burgundy - a mid weight euro by Stefan Feld. Giants - a light game about building the Moa statues on Easter Island and Krossmaster Arena - the most beautiful game ever - kind of like Final Fantasy Tactics, complete will cool minis. Anybody up for any of these?
