Sunday Gaming at The Mad Hatter

This week we are going to hit The Mad Hatter, Southwark for a few pints, some good pub grub, and of course, lots and lots of board games.

Five minutes walk from Southwark Station or ten minutes from Blackfriars and we're  there for 11 solid hours of gaming goodness.

Please keep the first aisle between the pub and the kitchen free from obstacles like bags and chairs so staff can deliver food easily.

Newbies especially welcome and if you get there at 12:00  you're most likely to not have to wait around to hop into a game straight-away.

Please bring games if you can and have fun.

Was good fun as always. Thanks to all the players - squeezed in two games of Hunters & Gatherers, Ark Of The Covenant, Coloretto twice (one not very well shuffled), TransAmerica twice, Ra the dice game, mascarade 3 times and bang 2 times.

Didnt know there was a settlers of catan game going - would have loved to have joined. Next time maybe.

Settlers of Catan (completely randomised layout - Patrick killed it!!! and certainly inspired me with his strategy!!! :D :D :D :D :D ), Splendor (it seems like every time I play this game I am faced with yet another way of playing it - fascinating!!! :D :D :D :D :D , Cuba, Suburbia with expansion Suburbia Inc, Ground Floor :D Many thanks to Amarjit & David who went thro the rules of Ground Floor when they have never played it before... I am still psyched about the mechanics of the game!!! :D :D :D :D :D

(I got Avalon with me again)
Thank you guys for a great Sunday! Today I played games that I didn't before. I played Blood Bowl which lasted more than 3 hours, I think. But what a fun it was! But to be honest, I probably wouldn't like it that much if I wasn't Chaos. ;)

Then I played another longer-than-average game of Splendor which I failed miserably despite I was really likely to win. And then my first game of Suburbia which turned out to be much easier that it looked like. Slow at times but really interesting. And the last one, Settlers of Catan. We had some really funny game and it was more about laughing than playing and I loved it! :)

Next ones I'd like to play are Lords of Waterdeep and some other strategy games. Or some RPGs? I guess we'll see.

    (Again, I got someone's Avalon)

I will probably bring Firefly. It takes about 4 hours to play, so it's only really suited for Weekends ;-)

Hello. I left a sainburys bag with 5 boardgames at the mad hatter and the bar manager says that he has given it to one of this group. I would appreciate being able to collect it from you at this meeting at the mad hatter. Cheers.

Hello. We posted on the event that a bag had been found, and in the Lost & Found forum and an email was sent to everybody who attended the event but we had no reply so it was collected and is at the Red Herring (where the pub allows us to keep a games library). You can collect it from the Red Herring when we next have an event there; which is Monday and Tuesday next week.

I'd love to play eclipse or game of thrones, if anyone has either of them, enough people are interested and someone can put up with teaching me!

    I promise I'm a quick learner

This will most likely be my last LOB weekend, as I'm leaving the UK. No idea what games to bring; will update when I made up my mind. ;-)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
