Board Games on Sunday!

Every week, London-on-Board hits The Old Star pub in Westminster for a few pints, some good pub grub, and of course, lots and lots of board games.

We're immediately across the road from St. James' Park tube station, so it really can't get more convenient, and we're normally there for 9 solid hours of gaming goodness!!!

Newbies especially welcome and if you get there at 11:00 a.m. prompt, you're most likely to not have to wait around to hop into a game straight-away.

First spin of Glory to Rome, can't compare to the old edition but very enjoyable game. Fun nasty little game of intrigue which is fun if played quickly. Also first spin of the new Netrunner.

Great fun as always. Third game of Android under my belt, and I came in second (as opposed to fourth in the last game).

@Timo: Thanks but don't worry about me, you guys can start without me. I'd rather see how the game works first instead of jump in straight away :)

@Xinyi: That's OK, if you prefer it that way. I guess I already have somebody else willing to fill that free spot. ;-)

If we are doing 2 games of android w 3 players in each, it will also make it better for those wanting a quicker game of MK afterwards

Ok, I´ll read the rules this afternoon if I can, if not I read Reviews and something to understand how the game flows

Hello, I just bought "Carcassonne: Traders and Builders" and I would like to try it :)
If someone wants to join me I will be at the pub at 12.00

Should be able to make it. (I write "should", because I already had to cancel on short notice twice this year... mea culpa.)
Again, would love to bring one of the "big 3" games I never (or only twice) played in all those years that I own them now: Android (played twice in almost 2 years), Warrior Knights, and Warlords of Europe.
Not sure if I want to limit Android to 4 players this time, just to reduce playing time. But I'm ok with 5 players and a long game, as I don't mind the duration when I enjoy myself. ;-)

    • Timo H.

@all Android players: With 5 players, we should try to play our turns as quickly as possible, so don't over-analyse things. This way, we can reduce downtime a bit and finish in a resonable number of hours played. ;-) I will bring game-aids (I downloaded them from BoardGameGeek). If you could manage to read the rules until Sunday (you find them on FFG's website), that would be awesome - but I'm OK if we go through them before playing.

@Kester: Xinyi announced interest in the game as well. If you bring your copy as well, we could have 2 games in parallel! ;-)

I might be able to make this now, but I'll know for sure sometime tomorrow - fingers crossed :D

See you all there. I'm still trying to trade my copy of Maria, so if you have any ideas let me know (I'm Trusty Sapper on boardgamegeek)

@ Laurence & Fernleigh - Don't worry, there are plenty of 'easier' games that will be around and everyone is willing to teach - Jeff will be hosting and normally sits at the big table in front of the door, he will point you in the right direction if you need help.

You can of course have an idea of what you would like to play, if so just mention it here & others may come and wish to play too. Otherwise there will be loads there on Sunday, and no you don't have to bring any yourself.

@ Fernleigh only - I have no idea why your photo won't load, sadly I am a dinosaur in that respect :)

Thank you Rocky. Very kind of you. After having typed that request, I noticed that there is a 'contact us' section on the lhs for the organisers, so I wrote to them. See you Sunday. Fernleigh

This is will only be my second time of attending, but I'm anxious to learn as much as possible. Can I be included in one of the simpler games please?

Hey guys - I'm a complete noob to all of this, but it sounds awesome. Are any games happening that are quick to pick up?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
