Essen! Gesundheit

As half of London On Board seems to have gone to the huge Spiel boardgame exhibition in Essen this year, you are encouraged to bring the stuff you managed to smuggle through customs from Germany and any other new filth you have gotten hold of recently, which you want to show off and play.

If you are new to London on Board check out this guide for new players. If you have any questions on the night or are having trouble getting into a game, then look out for the night's host, listed to the right.

If you plan on attending please RSVP. We only have 50 chairs and it gets uncomfortable for everyone if more people than that turn up. Similarly, please change your RSVP to no if it turns out you can't make it.

Essen-tastic! Played Spectaculum twice, four players both times and it took around twenty minutes for each game, including rules explanation. Certainly enough game for that amount of time. This filler is a keeper. Myrmes feels very tight and tricky, the end seems to sneak up on you just as your colony really gets ticking. I like ti enough to carry on playing it. Suburbia was good fun again but I am starting, after only two plays admittedly, to worry about the impact of the 'tax avoiding' buildings, PR Firm and Casino. They seem very, very powerful. If I owned it I might be tempted to leave those out to see how it played.

I am planning to bring 'Village' again, and I also like to play 'Carcassonne' and 'Alhambra'. Let me know if you are interested.

Village. Never played, but it seem to be very very nice. I hope I can play with you tonight.

I have prepared some cheat sheets for this if you would like I can bring them along.Played two games yesterday.Loved it. Only issue is lack of player boards for event/birth phases which the sheets resolve :)

Did anybody get "Copycat" (or "Fremde Federn") from Essen ? I would love to play it! Actually, I think I'll buy it, sooner or later.

I have a small group where we try to pool games, and someone else got Clash of Cultures. In retrospect I probably should have bought the game as I am suffering withdrawal symptoms. I don't suppose anybody is bringing this along? If so you would have one definite player to add :D
