Can't Be Arsed With a Theme (Tuesday night gaming)

So, it's a new year. Let's play some games.

If you are new to London on Board check out this guide for new players. If you have any questions on the night or are having trouble getting into a game, then look out for the night's host, listed to the right.

If you plan on attending please RSVP. We only have 50 chairs and it gets uncomfortable for everyone if more people than that turn up. Similarly, please change your RSVP to no if it turns out you can't make it.

THE LONDON ON BOARD GAME OF THE YEAR POLL WILL RUN UNTIL 23RD JANUARY. PLEASE CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW AND TELL US THE 10 GAMES YOU MOST ENJOYED PLAYING DURING 2012.

Good to get back to gaming. And more new people - welcome! Played a few Essen releases: Kosmonauts (space race with inertia) and Room 25 ("Cube" the game), then Big Fish, all good.

Really enjoyed Kosmonauts with Paul, James & George. A great version of the old 'Racetrack' gridpaper game that's less of a simple puzzle. I'd love to play again anytime, specially with advanced rules - those increase indirect interaction, explode your options and make outer planets worth more.

Room 25 was good fun. I'm still kicking myself about the 2nd, traitor-based, game. The signs were there but we all ignored it! I just suspected poor James because of his mannerisms. George was the mastermind klutz!

A close game of Big Fish little Fish. I've yet to play a game where hand-sizes increase as Stewart suggested but think that'd help escalate the tension.

Skull & Roses - always fun! One of those games I can enjoy several times in a row.

With Graham and Gabi, Big Fish Little Fish became lopsided. It's not a forgiving game. Finished with some Jungle Speed. Thanks for hosting, Paul!

Thank you Paul W, John and Barry who took me under their wing to play Dominion and Power Grid.

Good to meet Tom, Adam and Bob to play Maharini - a pretty game, which I clearly need to practice at!

I like the sound of Room 25. After beating it on easy, can we play with the traitor? What time are you getting in?

      January 7, 2013

    • Paul A.

Should be there just before 6. It plays fairly fast anyway.

Anyone up for a game of Ora et Labora. I don't have it but wonder if anyone coming on Tuesday 8th does - well up for a game.
