Tuesday night gaming

THE LONDON ON BOARD GAME OF THE YEAR POLL WILL RUN UNTIL 23RD JANUARY. PLEASE CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW AND TELL US THE 10 GAMES YOU MOST ENJOYED PLAYING DURING 2012.

http://www.meetup.com/LondonOnBoard/messages/boards/thread/29312392

If you are new to London on Board check out this guide for new players. If you have any questions on the night or are having trouble getting into a game, then look out for the night's host, listed to the right.

If you plan on attending please RSVP. We only have 50 chairs and it gets uncomfortable for everyone if more people than that turn up. Similarly, please change your RSVP to no if it turns out you can't make it.

Anyone up for a game of Spartacus? - A game of bood and treachery!

2012 Game of the year over at Rock, Paper, Shotgun and lots of fantastic other reviews. Need 2-3 more.

Thanks for bringing it, think starting on four was ambitious but definitely a lot of fun!

    • John

yeah really, whose dumb idea was starting on 4? Oh wait... great crew though, thanks

A sadly truncated game of Sid Meier's Civilization - Rome was NOT built in an evening. Nathan would have smashed it up even if it had been.

A great evening, started off with a round of Guillotine, followed by a few games of Room 25, which was very tense. Then we played several rounds of Coup, followed by Love Letter and finishing off with Kakerlaken Poker. A very fun evening! My plus one played Powergrid.

First game of Civ 4. Lessons learnt:

    1. Watch Nathan like a hawk
    2. Do not leave undefended or weak units anywhere near Nathan
    3. Do not trust Nathan
    4. Nathan moves like a bullet
    5. Nathan can walk on water

Was he stabbed in the eye?

      (Whose eye?)

A night of treachery and bluffing, starting with Room 25, then Coup, Love Letter, and finishing with Karkalaken Poker. All simple, all lean, all very mind-gamey.

    January 8, 2013

      January 15, 2013

    • Chris O.

I have Agricola, Discworld: Ankh Morpork and Guillotine with me tonight.

    January 15, 2013

    • Dan R

I'm in for Room 25, so probably best count me out. Have the fun!

      January 15, 2013

    • Lloyd

Dan, I doubt both plays of Room 25 will take an hour so you should have time for both.

      January 15, 2013

  • Paul A.

    Will bring Room 25

    January 14, 2013

    • Paul A.

It does up to 5, so yes.

      January 15, 2013

    • Dan R

Excellent! As long as it doesn't play better with 4 for some reason, count me in. Cheers.

      January 15, 2013

I have Tobago (mainly cos I'm jealous as my parents are there right now), Tongiaki, Carc H&G and a Martin Wallace game.

    January 15, 2013

    • Soren V.

      Yeah, very underrated game.

      January 15, 2013

    • Tom

Yeah I love it. The MW game is the only one I like. It's very quick.

      January 15, 2013

I will bring Martin Wallace's Election USA - rated as a real stinker (now, there's a good sales pitch!), but it looks like an atypical, fun Martin Wallace game. I will also bring Goldland and Rheinlander.

Ok, my first LoB of the year, so hopefully I can try some new games! Will Tammany Hall, Coup, Skull & Roses, Love Letter, Guillotine or 23 be in attendance? All of these have been highly recommended and I would not mind checking them out. I will be bringing Cosmic Encounter and maybe some smaller games.

    January 14, 2013

    • Nathan

I feel like I am set for the evening. Lloyd, can we interest you in some Cosmic Encounter, I hear it is your favourite game.
