Tuesday night gaming

If you are new to London on Board check out this guide for new players. If you have any questions on the night or are having trouble getting into a game, then look out for the night's host, listed to the right.

If you plan on attending please RSVP. We only have 50 chairs and it gets uncomfortable for everyone if more people than that turn up. Similarly, please change your RSVP to no if it turns out you can't make it.

I played one of the most intense games of Agricola I've ever experienced. I also lost spectacularly. Thankfully my mood was picked up after playing River Dragons :)

My City of Horror has shipped, finally back in stock! Apparently good with 4-6. Anyone want to play and learn with me? ZOMBIES!

Thanks guys - that was a blast! I have a good handle on the rules and will want to play again next week! There was certainly lots of interest during set up. Good to meet you all.

I would play again for sure. Really good game and a fun time had by all stabbing each other in the back!

Had a great night, the prisoners finally managed to win a game of room 25- only took 5 goes!

    • Lloyd

So... Same as every game then?

Great game of Noblemen with some fine games players. Thanks all.

I got to teach Hanabi and then contributed to Whopper's death in Cash n' Guns. What more could you hope for?

Welcoming and always patient to explain rules.

Due to popular demand, will bring Room 25. And Wilderness for good measure.

      I'll do room 25.

      January 29, 2013

For anyone who hasn't played it, Room 25 is absolutely brilliant. Thanks Paul, that was great fun!

      January 29, 2013

      January 29, 2013

  • John B

Anyone want to join Tom and I for Noblemen? It's good honestly.

    January 28, 2013

    • Tom

I will be available all night for free smiles and helpful pointing-out-nice-people. Although I just looked down the list of attendees, I may have a job on my hands...

Just read the rules: looks like a really good game. Can't wait.

Busy tonight, please make sure your rsvp is correct and we use the space as best we can. And say hi to a newbie. It's like hug a hoodie but with less chance of getting shanked.

Have one game, and it's Finca. We all need a bit more vitamin C in these dreary winter months.

    January 29, 2013

  • Will

I will be bringing a couple of guests to play gateway games. All are welcome to join, I am thinking things like Ticket to Ride, For Sale and maybe a main course of China Town (other suggestions welcome)

Start them with the classics- monopoly and Risk!

hmm, do you think it is fair to subject newbies to Chinatown :o)

Hi, I don't finish work till 5.30 so I wouldn't be able to be there really till 6.15. Is that too late?

    Luke

    January 27, 2013

    • Piers S.

From my experience Luke some of the shorter games will finish at 630ish and you'll be avail to jump in to the next round - or join together with those who couldn't also make the 530 start!

      1 · January 27, 2013

    • Tom

Well, I won't be there till 6.15 and I'm the host. So...no, not too late, we'll be there till the pub kicks us out :D

By popular demand I will be bringing Clash of Cultures. I have one more booked in, looking for two more. It would be great if you could cast an eye over the rules beforehand as it will be clocking in at over three hours at least.

    January 24, 2013

    • Bijmeister

Oh, I might be the one already booked in <sheepish look>.

      January 27, 2013

    • Robin W

      hahaha!

      January 27, 2013

  • Hannah

Hey - this will be my 3rd meet. I've been a bit put off before as it takes me a while to learn the rules and I'm intimidated!! Could someone offer up a game to me to play and I'll read the rules online somewhere to get a heads up before hand? :)

    2 · January 2, 2013

    • John

You might search for a youtube review of the proposed game as well, some of them go pretty in-depth on the rules and game play and are easier to digest than a pdf of the rules. Once you get over the hump many of the games incorporate the same concepts and you'll be good to go from there. Hang in there, I'd say it's worth it.

Hannah, the rules for Room 25 can be found here: http://boardgamegeek.... if you scroll down to the files section. Good luck, though Paul is an excellent teacher!
