Board Games on Sunday!

Every week, London-on-Board hits The Old Star pub in Westminster for a few pints, some good pub grub, and of course, lots and lots of board games.

We're immediately across the road from St. James' Park tube station, so it really can't get more convenient, and we're normally there for 9 solid hours of gaming goodness!!!

Newbies especially welcome and if you get there at 11:00 a.m. prompt, you're most likely to not have to wait around to hop into a game straight-away.

Vikas guest sounds like an overpower minor improvement to me, should be banned

Way too nice a day to be stuck inside with games!

This Sunday at the host/organiser/coordinator/etc table (the big one in the bar area): Light games for beginners and people who love them.
    Newbies always welcome!

Starting things off with "The Settlers of Catan" (gotta show some love for the modern classics). 3 seats taken so far (Ari, Rowan, myself), 3 more available.

Followed by a nice game of "Small World" with expansions. 2 seats available.

Not sure what else I will bring, put probably some more games with easy enough rules that don't last too long. Thinking about Alhambra, Carcassonne (with expansions 1 and 2), King of Tokyo, Ra, Castles of Burgundy, Robo Rally, Love Letter, 6 takes, and Pandemic. Obviously, not all of them. Any requests?

Sorry, I'll be late 20. Hope you could wait for me with settlers.

Spoons f*cked up my breakfast order, so I'll be 10-15 minutes late as well. :-(

Can I interest anyone in three hours of back stabbing, temporary alliances and screwage in Dominare?

I am happy to teach Antoine. It actually takes up to six so still room for two more.

I'm keen to try out a few new (ish) worker placement games - Keyflower and Archipelago. Anyone interested?

Not sure if we'll have time for all 3 but I'll bring it along.

I'm going to be delayed by engineering work, should get there around 11:39.

I'm bringing along Cards Against Humanity as well for some end of day inappropriate humour. :) Find out what those two short people are doing with that bucket...

I don't suppose anyone has a copy of Civ (2010 FFG one) that they could possibly lend me for a few days?

Anyone interested in a newbie game of 18XX?

I want to do a nice long game of Die Macher. It's sort of a grail game for me, and I really want to get it to the table! It isn't technically my copy (I'll be borrowing it from my university gaming club), but would really like to see it get played!

We have a gaming club??? I gues it's only open to undergrad ;-)

It's open to everyone - meets every Monday 6pm onwards. There are some Maths postdocs who show up every now and then!

I will not be attending - I am, however, giving my RSVP to Adam (Holliday)

I hear the 'land reform' minor improvement is overpowered.

Ahhh, another sunday, another crack at conquering Westros. Game of Thrones, anyone? I have the Dance with Dragons expansion, to make it more (or less?) interesting.

Hey, I'd be up for trying DwD, haven't played it before.

If the keyflower/archipelago table is full I could be persuaded

I have the honour of hosting this Sunday (that means free coffee for me, right? Right, Jeff? JEFF??? :) ), so I guess I will bring a couple of light games to introduce them to newbies - in case we'll have some. ;-)
