My favorite game really depends on my mood - but they are predominantly heavy games that all take a fair amount of time. Twilight Struggle is an amazingly tense two player experience, akin to a chess match with cards, and it's particularly fun when I feel particularly destructive or tactical. I've also quite recently gotten into the 18xx series of Railway/Stock Games and have been enjoying the depth and keeping track of all the competing demands require of the various games. I also enjoy a good heavy Euro - Dominant Species, is probably my favorite Euro, though Power Grid isn't far behind. Finally, I love card games - my card game of choice is the Game of Thrones Card Game, partly because I love the books, but also partly because it's such a well designed game.
Both. All Wargames and no Party Games makes Jack a dull boy. While I prefer having a big, long "serious" game as the "main course" for a board gaming session, I love to warm up and wind down with some lighter games. What does bother me, though, are silly games that take over an hour or so - those usually far outsay their welcome by the 45 minute mark, and have usually ceased to be funny.

Boring Train Gamer who plays lots of 18xx. Also card game geek who plays lots of LCGs (Game of Thrones, Netrunner and Lord of the Rings). Wargamer who enjoys traditional hex-and-coutner and CDGs.
