The BFI National Archive’s gala screening in the 57th BFI London Film Festival is the world premiere of the newly restored official film record of the legendary 1924 Everest expedition, The Epic of Everest, directed by Captain John Noel.
It is screening at the Odeon West End in Leicester Square and will have a new score performed live by composer Simon Fisher Turner and a specially created musical ensemble.
The bad news is that all tickets are currently sold. They sold out on the day that tickets first became available to members.
However, more tickets often become available nearer the date so do keep checking f you have not got a ticket. And there will probably be returns on the day if you are prepared to get there very early and queue.
This is a meetup group for people who love or are curious about Silent Film. It is an opportunity to watch silent films in great venues in and around London and to meet and chat to other enthusiasts after the event, over a coffee, drink or a meal.
Hopefully, as well as being fun it will be a way to meet others and to share knowledge.
Let's help keep silent film alive and support the venues that show them!
