Ooooh .... way too many to list, but some favs that immediately come to mind are Seventh Heaven, Man With a Movie Camera, The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Napoleon, The Wonderful Lies of Nina Petrovna, Shooting Stars, The Life and Death of 9413-A Hollywood Extra, The Smiling Madame Beudet, The Abyss, The Unknown .... I could go on!
For silent film, Barbican cinema one - a fabulous programme and a great auditorium.
'The silent pictures were the purest form of cinema' - Alfred Hitchcock. I agree wholeheartedly with Hitch on this. I love the visual potency of silent films - a picture can be worth a thousand words.
Lovely to meet folk with a shared interest in silent cinema, and who have discovered the wonders of silent films through such varied routes - fascinating! I look forward to further screenings and discussions.
