Scandinavian Monthly Tuesday Meetup

  • This location is shown only to members

This meetup will be at The Library in Islington, nearest tube station is Highbury & Islington.

We will be in the room upstairs. It should be quiet up there and they serve Thai food so don't worry about turning up hungry!

This is our regular meetup that's been happening for many years now and as it's the most informal it's the best meet up to come along to if you're new.

This meetup starts at 7pm .

The area we have booked is in the upstairs room.

There's no structure to the MeetUp and it's no problem if you arrive late. Just find us, pull up and a chair and introduce yourself. If you're looking for something in particular, someone with the same level of Swedish ability, someone who speaks English, someone with advice on travel to Sweden then feel free to ask me and I'll do my best to introduce you. The MeetUp finishes when the last person leaves which is usually around 10pm, but does vary.

Each meetup has a mix of new and familiar faces; beginners, competent conversationalists & native speakers; as well as people who are just interested in the culture and meeting new people.

Everyone is welcome along with friends of any nationality.

Free entry and membership.

If can't find us, please send a text to Anne on[masked] or James on[masked] 573.

To ensure the continued success of this group, please make a donation of any amount (£5 to suggested) to contribute towards the fee that Meetup charges the organiser. The donation link is in the left hand column.

A pleasure to attend, the place was nice and quiet and the people were friendly, relaxed and keen to practice their language skills! Will certainly be attending again!

Hey guys, I'm not able to come to this one but the organiser of the Danish group (Anne) will be there, at least for the start. Remember that it's upstairs. Since this is a mixed scandi meetup it can be a good idea to split yourselves up with separate areas for Swedish/Danish/Norwegian etc. If you wish. There should be a pretty good turnout with 25-30 people across the various groups.

    Hope you all enjoy it!

Hej, hej! Jag kommer fråm Tokyo, Japan. Jag studerade i Linköping i 2008. Jag studerar svenska.

I've just move to London for work. I have many Swedish friends in Sweden and Japan, but not in UK. I'd love to see anyone who loves Sverige :)

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
