Cultureseekers Midweek Coffee Evening

  • Feb 5, 2014 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Come along on Wednesday 5th February at 6:30pm for a Midweek Coffee Evening!

These will be regular social events on Wednesday evenings at coffee shops all over London.  That way people can join us after work or if they live nearby.

It's a chance to chat and get to know people in the group in a quiet relaxed setting over a coffee.  We can also talk about things people want to see in London with the group.  These evenings are also good for 1st timers to attend to find out more about the group.

We will have signs up inside the coffee shop where we are sitting, so keep a lookout.

Hope to see you there!

I think we are being a bit harsh on people who didn't/couldn't attend..the transport situation was difficult to predict as the big unknown was how other people were going to react. Having glided effortlessly down river on the (free) river service earlier in the afternoon, I was prepared for an horrendous journey home. In fact the skeleton service on the District Line and rump of Piccadilly line was well organised, more than able to cope and got me home to Hounslow in the same time as if there was no strike. I presume other people just weren't aware of it!

Artigiano is actually a great place and the coffee is excellent. As for the people who missed it, you know the old saying: If one wants to do something he just does it, if not, you can always find an excuse (weather, strike, or the hadron collider) :)

Good meetup, good conversation. Shame more people didn't make the effort to attend. Seems that without the tube (which Londoners moan about incessantly) London becomes almost as hard to navigate as the Amazon rainforest. Don't get it myself, on my 4 mile walk home, Blackfriars Road looked pretty much the same, tad more traffic than normal at 8:30 granted, but no problem on foot. Maybe its because I'm a Northener! When they see how few turned up, those on the waiting list must feel a bit miffed to have missed the option of attending.

Yes,well wort it. Took me an hour to get home from Mansion House to Hounslow..normally takes only 60 minutes. Could not even stand up on Tube as usual as there were too many empty seats to fall into!

Have changed to 'no' due to tube strike. Hopefully someone can take my place.

Hi. Just saw that I have been upgraded to 'yes.' However, thanks to tube strike, I think it will be difficult for me to get there tonight. So better change my RSVP. Would really have liked to come too.

Live too far away to get there easily so please give my place to someone living closer!

I won't be able to make it either - to far away and honestly don't feel like braving the crowded buses getting there late anyway to repeat the same problematic journey home. Hope those who attend will enjoy.

    Hi
I see lots of people can't make it for obvious reasons-would like to be sure if I will make it off the wait list at this point...so it would be good to know if anyone else has decided that its just too difficult to get to Artigiano this evening

Hi Robert - unfortunately I think the Tube strike will make it too difficult for me to travel to venue. Hopefully someone on waiting list will be nearer than me! Have a good evening

I realise I'm double-booked too…(!). I'm on the waiting list, but ned to be at a 'London City Singers' rehearsal, at 6.30pm, near Monument too… Sorry…!

I just realised I'm double booked. I can't make this tomorrow. Good luck getting together! I'll try for next time.

Please be aware that if tube strike goes ahead St Pauls station will be closed as I think too will Barbican. Check Tfl.org. District line to Cannon St looks OK but not stopping at Blackfriars. I'm considering the scenic route and getting a boat to Bankside!

Ooops... sadly unable to make it, which is a real shame as Waterloo is quite quick for me to travel to from Clapham after work... Enjoy your evening everyone!
