Where did you hear about this group?

Found it on Meetup.com

How long have you been developing with Java?

Forever, since Java[masked]

What are your favourite technologies at the moment?

In addition to the usual suspects like Scala and Clojure, I also do a lot of work with XML and XQuery, especially on MarkLogic (where I worked for five years). I'm the founder of the MarkLogic User Group London.

Would you be interested in hearing about any new Java permanent or contract positions at present? (if yes please add which would be of more interest)

I run my own consultancy. I would be interested in hearing from companies that need my consultation services (architecture, analysis, project rescue, etc). I don't wish to hear from recruiters wanting to place me as a contractor with their own clients.

Introduction

I'm a long-time Java coder and architect. I've written a Java book for O'Reilly (Java NIO). I've been a java.net blogger and moderator. I've spoken at JavaOne (twice) and Javapolis (before it was Devoxx) and I'm an official Java Champion.
