Where did you hear about this group?

Popped into the Java room at FOSDEM 2012 and heard a couple of its members in the audience and also presenting.

How long have you been developing with Java?

I picked up a book in 2003, but didn't study properly until I started a Computer Science degree in 2005. I started professional development in my placement year,[masked], in developing a Java swing application and since 2010 I have worked in development with various technologies and languages, largely on the enterprise servers and Eclipse PDE.

What are your favourite technologies at the moment?

For Java Development: Java EE, OSGi, Eclipse Framework, Maven, Git, Android and anything that might replace XML (not sure JSON, YAML, etc alternatives are as functional yet). General other technology interests: Python, Ruby, C, LLVM, Linux, Web languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/ECMAScript) and Application Design practices: coding standards, API maintainability, database design and performance. Tempted by NoSQL, but few in roads yet.

Would you be interested in hearing about any new Java permanent or contract positions at present? (if yes please add which would be of more interest)

Yes. Java development team roles: primarily enterprise applications that use OSGi and/or Java EE. However, also happy to consider other languages and enterprise platforms, as I currently enjoy working with CICS, have previously developed in Python and continue to have an interest in C, web development, and Android.

A software engineer with experience of development in Python, CICS TS, Eclipse PDE, OSGi, Java, Ruby, Web Services. Professional experience in test, development and service roles on frontend and backend enterprise platforms.
