All these ideas are great and I think it shows that people will have their own preferences on what they want to use and how they define themselves on line.  This is why I was thinking of a profile as a blog post on the existing LJC blog site as a simple and easy to find starting point.

A profile would basically be an overview of a person in words and pictures that link off to all the other sites, source code repositories, communities and projects that they are involved in.  This means we are not asking people to do a lot of work and simply give a quick summary of themselves and where you can see more.

I see the goal of a profile is to introduce someone to the community so that the members can find people they want to talk to and for all of us to have a better understanding of the people who make up our diverse community.

Of course we could do something completely different, but that is my particular preference.

Thanks
John.

We could use http://careers.stackoverflow.com/ which is more developer oriented and you could add your profile from linkedin and your projects from github/google code/bitbucket/sourceforge/codeplex.
