You may also be interested in the following projects:

Kojoa Learning Environment that enables play, exploration, and learning in the areas of Math, Science, Art, Music, and Creative Thinking.  Some people also use it to learn Scala, but that can all be hidden.

Apps for good - a community helping school level children to develop there own applications.

This group was created by a community of people brought together on the 12th October 2011 at the Guardian, York Way, London - made up of young people, teachers, ex-teachers, developers, parents and industry with the purpose of finding ways to support education of programming and computational thinking for the current and next generations in the UK. Whether this be through traditional education methods - or other stuff.

This is something that I find of great interest personally.  I was wondering whether this is something we might want to support as a community?
