Hi LJC Members,

I hope you’re looking forward to JAX. I met Barry and several of the LJC members at the last conference and it was great to see such a strong Java presence in London. I thought you may be interested to know about our upcoming conference. It’s relevant to you because this event gives you an opportunity to get to know BIRT.  Created in 2004, BIRT is an Eclipse-based set of reporting and data visualisation tools used to build rich information applications, in particular, web applications based on Java and J2EE.  With over 10 million downloads and an estimated 1 million developer base it’s got to be worth a look.

Our special guest this year is James Governor, leading Open Source BI analyst of Redmonk.  James plans to take a deep dive into the world of BI and explore why 'data is at the nexus of pretty much everything awesome in tech right now'.

You will also get the opportunity to put our team of panellists under the microscope as they debate why Big Data, Agile and Mobile are at the centre of everything in BI right now.

And if this isn’t enough, learn why BIRT continues to lead the way in open source with free hands-on training and in-depth workshops.

Please come join us on Wednesday, November 16th at London's Mint Hotel near Tower of London.  I really hope to see you there.

Date: 16th November 2011

Time: 9:00 – 17:00

Venue: Mint Hotel, Tower of London
