Next Week's CircleBack event

From: Ben E.
Sent on: Saturday, October 20, 2012 10:50 AM

You've probably seen the event mail go out regarding next week's
CircleBack event.

This is an event that we thought we'd run based on the energy and
feedback we got at the recent JavaOne conference.

There were a group of 5 LJC members who travelled together - and it
occurred to us that perhaps not everyone in the LJC is aware of
everything which happens in the global JUG arena, which the LJC & it's
members are a part of.

For example, we've won awards:

* Duke's Choice Award. That means that we were chosen by Oracle to
receive an award as one of the most exciting things to be happening in
the Java industry this year.

* JCP Member of the Year (jointly with SouJava). We were voted the
most outstanding member of the Java Community Process.

We have global programmes, led by LJC members, that are influencing
the direction of the language and platform - for example AdoptAJSR &

There is so much going on - and we want you to be part of it. So,
we're running this event to circle back with the community as a whole,
and tell you about what's happening & how you can get involved.

As the LJC, we've built something very special - and we need your help
to keep it alive, and thriving.

No matter what your level of experience is, or if you only have a
small amount of time to contribute - your help and participation is
valued & needed.

Not only will you be helping your community - you'll also be
developing your skills and network. It's also a lot of fun.

The event is on Thursday:

If you're free, please do come along and learn more. If you can't make
it, please contact myself, or Barry, or Martijn, or Trish.

Hope to see you on Thursday,
