Re: [ljc] DevoxxUK 2013, London: a small "shout-out" blog post!

These all sound like good ideas. I have had quite a few people complain about the lack of stickers so will look into that. It would be good to get some pictures on a scrolling video screen or something like that too.

What are some of the best stands you have seen at conferences? I remember Mark Hazell discussing an idea at JAX of having a massive whiteboard and getting everyone to 'collaborate' which would be cool. Has anyone seen anything else that was really cool that we could do/use?

Cheers,
Barry

Great ideas and examples ;)!

Can we have a hall-of-fame section (or choose a another name) section where all those who have been helping / involved with LJC in the last 5 yrs shd be mentioned (+photos if available), i'm already thinking of names like Ben, Martijn, Richard, and the whole lot! And not forgetting to mention the awards we won, and who helped us win them!

One of the things is signing up new members, they don't know about LJC sometimes, and awareness among existing ones. Existing members sometimes don't know what programs LJC is involved in - like Richard suggested! I have noticed people blank out once they leave an LJC event, so they shd get something they will keep, see and use and that will remind them of the programs / activities / LJC.

We (ahem Sam) will be manning the LJC stand so make sure you come and say hello if you're going along.  Any suggestions for anything we could do with our stand? So far all we have come up with is free sweets We could get LJC members to come along and write messages on/sign our LJC sign?

Advertising for Meet-A-Project and/or Adopt-a-JSR/Adopt-OpenJDK.  Maybe just a brief logo or something.

There's also some potential synergy with the hackergarten.  Might be worth shoving a few photos of people who are involved in LJC projects on a noticeboard.  For example:

* Building OpenJDK: Mani Sarkar <picture of mani>
