I just wanted to write briefly to you about next weeks Clojure event with Robert Rees.
The LJC has had a long history of Clojure events, we had our first event with Rich Hickey back in 2009 and indeed the London Clojurians and Clojure Dojo was formed initially by some of the LJC organisers before it was spun up into it's own group. We have always worked closely with the London Clojurians and now that there is a growing momentum for Clojure in London we wanted to throw a few events in conjunction with them to help you guys understand what the Clojure language is all about, why you should be looking at it and some practical applications of how it is being used.
The first event that we are running is on Wednesday and will be hosted by Sam Hepburn. Robert Rees will offer a "Tourists Guide to Clojure for Java Programmers" We have 125 people registered already and room for many more: http://www.meetup.com/Londonjavacommunity/events/124102132/
It is designed to cover the basics and get into some live coding.
Other events will follow on in the future - watch this space. If you want to join the London Clojurians and see what other events they organise then you can sign up at this link: http://londonclojurians.org/
