Fwd: [ec] 1 October 2013 EC ballot reminder: two items for voting

From: Martijn V.
Sent on: Wednesday, October 2, 2013 7:20 AM
Hi all,

I know ME isn't a strong part of the London's tech scene, but talking to a bunch of companies at J1 made me realise that people are excited again with the direction of where it's going (convergence with SE).

If anyone is interested in looking into this properly please let me know else I think we just tick this one like all ME votes previously.

Cheers,
Martijn

 ---------------------------
In addition to the any JCP 2.7 or JCP 2.8/2.9 ballot issues, numerous JSRs are moving through JCP 1.0, 2.7, or 2.8/2.9 stages without ballots. The PMO encourages you to review such JSRs and provide feedback to the relevant Expert Groups and Spec Leads.

If you'd like to find out about JSRs as they are posted, you can follow the JCP blog (http://blogs.oracle.com/jcp/), the JCP Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Java-Community-Process/109537315786054), and/or the JCP Twitter feed (http://twitter.com/jcp_org).

------------------------------------------------------------------
EC representatives can log in to the ballot page (http://jcp.org/en/ec/ballot) or on the EC private page (http://jcp.org/en/ec/my) using their EC account. EC accounts are specific to that area of the site, and are distinct from the login credentials used elsewhere on the site. Each EC Member has a unique login which is shared by its primary and alternate representatives in order to cast votes and access EC meeting agendas and other EC-private information. This EC login information is only used for the EC-private areas of the site and will not enable access to Expert Groups or any other areas of the jcp.org site accessed via the "left nav-bar login." Similarly, EC representatives who are registered on jcp.org cannot use their personal logins to access the EC-private areas of the site. Please remember that your personal login (typically the userID is jcp-XXXX) is for accessing Expert Group materials and more general areas of jcp.org; EC materials like ballots are accessed using the EC Member's login (which is shared between you and all the other EC representatives for your seat on the EC, and typically has an userID containing the name of your JCP Member).

The voting deadline for any ballot is 23:59:59 Pacific Time of the last day to vote of the ballot. To be counted, your vote must be placed before that time. You are encouraged to verify that your vote has been recorded after you cast it: check to make sure that the log reflects your comments and the tally of votes updates with your vote. If you have any difficulty casting your vote during the ballot, contact [address removed] *immediately*, explaining the problem. If the primary EC representative cannot physically cast the vote, it is the job of the alternate contact(s) to cast the vote instead. If for any reason you have a problem casting your vote on JCP.org then email your vote (along with any comments) to [address removed] *before* the ballot deadline in order for the vote to become part of the official record.
