Marylebone Walk (With Simon & Michael)

  • January 5, 2014 · 1:00 PM
  • Under the covered area NEAR the Odeon (Marble Arch) Cinema

Join the one and only Simon and Michael’s guided walk around this feature packed area: 40+ stops - famous and secret sites. We like to pack stuff in! See and hear the history and stories of Marble Arch, The Wallace Collection, farmers market, delightful Marylebone village and church, the London's medical 'ground zero' of Harley & Wimpole St - where a bored Sir Dr Arthur Conan Doyle wrote much of Shylock Holmes whilst waiting for his patients, plus beautiful garden squares, and lots more...... after all that we'll relax and socialise with tea/coffee and perhaps a bite.

Meet: Outside Odeon cinema, just turn right out of Marble Arch tube station, (Central line).

Length of Walk: About 2.5 miles

Finish: Near Bond St tube around 4pm. Pace: Quite gentle!

Guides: Simon [masked]) & Michael [masked]). Please note:

We'll be there 10 minutes early, try to be on time, but if you're running late our first stop is Tyburn convent

Cost: £5 per person

I really enjoyed seeing that part of town. Interesting info and quirky facts too! Also met some nice people. Sorry, had to bail out at Oxford Circus as was getting pretty chilled by then.

That was disappointing. My I phone said 25 min journey and I had to walk loads in between tube stops. I tried to call Simon and the Convent first stop. No answer. I'm very new to the area and it is quite disorientating.

Hi - wondering how the walk will work with so many people - will it be hard for us to move around as a group and listen to the history and stories?

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
