Sunday Run + Brunch

Change of venue! To avoid the craziness of attempting to park near Shoreline when the Pride Festival is going on, we are meeting in front of Schooner or Later in the Alamitos Bay Marina. Parking is free there and should be pretty easy at 7:30 in the morning!

-------------------------------------------

Come join me for all or part of the run - all paces welcome. My pace will probably be 11:00/mile.

I'm starting up training for my FIRST marathon and will be running 8 miles on this day, from the Alamitos Bay Marina going through Naples and Belmont Heights/Shore. We're basically going the well-worn route used by the running folk at AREC.

I bookmarked a ton of their routes from back when I was on their training e-mail list, so if you'd like to run a shorter distance but don't want to get lost, just let me know what your planned mileage is and I'll let you know the route for that mileage.

When we're done, let's have breakfast at Schooner's!

If you have any questions, please post them below. Hope you can join us :-)

Good to run with Judy for the first 3 miles - the conversation took my mind off my aching back. We met James Lee at Judy's turnaround point (great timing!) and the two of them ran back to the marina, while I kept going for my 8-miler. When I finally got back, Judy and I had a nice brunch. Yum!

If I don't show up by 7:30, go without me. It means I have overslept. I will try to catch up en route.

Marisa, check out this route for your 10-miler. http://www.favoriterun.com/206882 We will basically part ways at 2nd and Bayshore, and you will keep running south then east into the Peninsula and back. The route listed is 10.01 miles but just keep running into the Peninsula to get your extra half-mile in. We can discuss more when we meet.

The parking lot behind the Villa is shut down all weekend. It's the Pride festival on the back grass by Alfredo's

Yeah, you're a month behind me in training (my marathon is in early September) so you probably would only be running a 10K ... or whatever feels comfortable for you to build up base mileage. Do you know of the AREC running club? They host training runs for LB marathon/HM. They have a training schedule here: http://www.arec-lb.com/13ftrain.html.

I just started my marathon training for LB in Oct. I'll see what mileage I need to do that week and run with you. Might not be as long

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
