I agree this was super pleasant surprise.
I started out unsure about how a group of new players might struggle.
-- 30 minutes later I was thinking "What a great group!
I can't wait to get to know them better and play again!"
I'm hoping everyone can get together on a regular basis.
Everyone rocks! An extraordinary first time session.

I'm more inclined for google or yahoo for our discussion.
I am assuming these offer better privacy vs Facebook?
I may be able to host games a little later. We can discuss at the next together.
I think our group seems pretty solid and mature.
If people are able to show up consistently, I'd rather not have 7 players. Phil, you're DM so what you say goes.

1. Lets get dates for a new meeting I could play Saturday 23rd if not too late notice. Im a Wonder Con 29-31.
2. We need a meeting place. Morganna you said you might know something.
3. We need a wizard(good old fashion one), and two more characters, preferably a Barbarian or another sword swinger and possibly a ranger or a bard. I know everyone didn't get what they wanted to play but to tell you the truth I think everyone did a great job with those characters and would suggest you keep them. BUT Im not opposed to you guys switching characters to something. You can modify them too. Backgrounds are really part of the fun for me.
4. Should I start a yahoo group or a google group so we are not spamming people with these emails. This would be a place where we could store files like character generation rules and have discussions on meetings and you guys could plot and plan your moves. There are a lot of decisions you guys need to make.

I'm coming for sure. I think it is worth getting together with 4 players ...(?).

Oh shucks. Well since this is really Morganna deal and I only hijacked it, Ill let her make that decision. I suspect most people wanted to play in her game to begin with.
What I would suggest is you come for one session alone and see if the language is PG enough. I don't have kids so I would hate to make a determination.

XX changed the date and time to Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 12:00 PM
I see this meet up sitting here and not moving so...
I contacted Steve Lucky at the War House in Long Beach and he said we could have a table possibly 2 in his game store on Saturday 3/18/13 from noon to 4pm.
Ill run a game for beginners. I make characters and bring minins.
Let me know if you want to play.

Well, if a locale is needed, the lasfs (Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society, lasfs.org) has gaming, every Friday evening in Van Nuys.
"Regular meetings are on Thursday nights.
For that matter, this SUNDAY March 10 is lasfs Open House. We have gaming starting around 2pm. Any interest, or is it too far away?

I'm not RSVPing, I figure a session can only support so many people and I should let people more excited about it have first dibs. But if I'm around that day and it turns out half your signups no-show, totally poke me and I'll show up. (Though I have close to no idea how D&D 4 works, if you end up going that route. I still recall a good chunk of the rules of 3.5.)
