Long Beach Singles BI-Monthly Meeting

LBSYC welcomes all sailors (and sailor wanna-be's) to their twice monthly meeting on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Khoury's Banquet Room on the water at Alamitos Bay Landing at the SE corner of LA County, Long Beach, and Alamitos Bay Marina behind the THAIRapy salon (Between THAIRapy and the water) between Khoury's Restaurant and Buster's Restaurant (N of Khoury's Restaurant).  For those with a GPS:[masked] N and[masked] W will get you close. First timers $5 (have never attended a meeting) , members ($60/year) $7 and perpetual guests $10 (non-members) . Come and sign up to go sailing (several boats usually posted for day sails), socialize with like minded people and hear speakers on various subjects (usually boating related). Light snacks are included in the entry fee and there is a no host bar available. Happy hour is 7 to 8. Meeting is 8 to 9. LBSYC is an Associate Member of the SCYA (Southern California Yachting Association) which allows our members to race their boats in most other yacht club events. Despite the name, being single is not a requirement . Membership and participation is open to all adults. We have a dock party or raft up at least once/month during the summer, house party at least once/month year round and boats posted for day sails and over nights (usually Catalina but have been to the Lido anchorage a couple of times, Dana Point and Oceanside. There has been talk of a sail to San Diego and back.) If you own a boat and want the benefits of an SCYA yacht club in order to participate in racing this is an inexpensive way to go. If you don't own a boat and want to go sailing here is your chance. The only expense you might incur is sharing the cost of food and mooring fees on an overnighter. Pot luck on daysails and bring your own beverage.
