Friday Night Rip

The Friday Night Rip is a long running tradition in Prospect Park.  Skaters gather on most fridays throughout the year on a hill in the park on the west side, at the intersection of 16th street and West Lake Drive between 8pm - 11pm.

The Rip has been going on for over 8 years, and draws skaters of all types and ages.  It is not an organized event, people show up if they are keen on it, and it has no official organizers.

You can often see great tech-sliding, soft-wheel slides and downhill board walking.  It's a great time to learn, and help teach tricks with local longboarders.  And if you're really lucky the Earthwing team might roll through and blow your mind!
