Green River SP overnight

this is not a Champlain Paddlers' event, rather I'm going as a member of Upper Valley Kayakers. However, if someone wants to come along, I have room in (and on) my car. I'll be leaving Underhill early Saturday and coming back early Sunday (in time for Colchester Pond). If that works for you, let me know.
I've offered several GRR trips with close to 0 response. It's a fabulous lake, close to a perfect kayak destination. I'm there approximately weekly. If anyone's interested I'll schedule again.

'Twas great hooking up with the central VT and east coast people, and the weather couldn't have been finer. Summer weekends are a whole different world, though. Scads of people everywhere on the water all day except dawn and dusk. Even in steady rain Sunday, people kept arriving and launching, some with camping gear.
Peak moccasin flower season is past but plenty were still on show.

It was. Sometimes we were 11 paddlers, sometimes 4. I went out once with one other and several times alone. I also had a couple of rewarding conversations with people not part of our group at all, and a very pleasant hike. There was sufficient flexibility that I think everyone got approximately exactly what he/she wanted out of the trip. I, for instance, was on the water bright and early both days and, after emptying the boat and seeing everyone off, got to go back out in the rain, all of which suits me to a T.

day-tripping? absolutely. Central VT Social meetup people are coming for part of the day and I think some Upper Valley people won't stay overnight. However, they have different arrival and departure times and are headed home in different directions so you may be on your own for carpooling. Upper Valley launch time is 10:00, headed first to set up camp. Social group launch time is ostensibly 09:00. The two will combine for lunch. I expect to be on the water at dawn both days.
Note: there's a day use fee. Many public libraries have a pass you can check out with your library card.
Also: weren't you planning to go to NY that day?

Hi Donna, Did you write me with a question about Sunday's paddle? If you did I'm sorry I missed it. The paddle will be fun. The last one we had was a lot of fun, don't worry about meeting the group, trust me. I was very pleased with the feedback, you can read the comments on the left side of the website from that paddle. The last paddle was my first with the group and everyone was laid back, friendly and helpful! That is the culture I really want to build on. Some paddles may be more intense but the organizer will note that.

    karl,
That's a great tip to pass on about many libraries having free passes. I had just heard that from a friend recently even places like Shelburne Museum!
I'm interested in the overnight trips as well. I picked up a new kayak with ample storage so now I just need to bone up a little on my skills and figure out what I need for camping gear. Not sure if I'll be ready for the bigger trips this season or not, depends on how I progress I guess.

Is there a possibility to come just for part of the day?
